Cracking sunspots today

Spaceweather was showing a superb presentation of sunspots this morning, 31st July. Couldn't resist trying to image them, since we had a bit of nice weather.

These were taken through my usual set-up - D300 and 420mm telephoto. 20 shots stacked in Registax 5 and tweaked slightly in CS3.

Nice.... very sharply focused and excellent detail

Thanks Malcolm. One of the beauties of using an autofocus DSLR and telephoto, rather than a scope, is that it's easy to get good focus.

I'm keen to get my DSLR mounted on one of my scopes to get a bigger image scale, but suspect I'll have more difficulty getting the focus as sharp, even using live view. Still, on my list of things to do!
