Kermit
If it's any consolation it did the same up here in the Lakes. - Lovely all day, clear skies, short sleave shirt weather & on th drive home clouded right over. Sky God's way of telling you to open a bottle!
moondog
Rog - you're not alone. The sky don't like me either, I must have done the same as you on at least three occasions during the last week. It's a frustrating hobby in the cloudy UK that's for sure. I haven't managed a decent night with the scope since the Total Eclipse of the Moon ! Kaptain Klevtsov
Ditto I'm afraid. Forecast said clear after 9PM so as it got dark I lined up on M101 for some heavy duty luminance frames, got a guide star lined up and left it waiting for dark skies. Never happened, just got more and more cloudy. Still cloudy at 11PM so no joy.Captain Chaos
lunator
I did manage to get 1hour observing in tonight, but due to the amount of cloud I kept it low key and observed the brighter stuff. It was good to collect some photons CheersIan

The Warthog
I once set up, started observing through some large gaps in the clouds, went inside for something, and came back out about ten minutes later to find it was raining. You can't win for losing, some nights.
Ant
I've done something similar. Set up under a clear sky. Spent some time observing things in the east and got rained on. Hadn't noticed the bank of cloud coming in from the West! DOH!Ant
