William Optics Megrez 72 balancing...

Hi all,

I have had trouble with balancing my M72, people that have this scope will know that with the small foot this scope comes withit is hard to balance especially when imaging with it...

I decided to add a medium sized SW dovetail bar to the bottom, so that it makes the position of the scope adjustable.

Anyway here is some piccys of it...

That should do the job

Also, the telescope's foot can be removed, rotated 180 degrees, and refitted, which moves the weight forward.

Thats another way, but it wasnt quite enough for me... When ive got my dslr, FF etc on the back.

It's true that this Megrez 72 is a bit of a nightmare to balance correctly, especially with guider and DSLR attached to it. Thanks for this tip, I'm off buying a SW dovetail

That's helpful. I need to do the same with mine and I think I have a SW dovetail somewhere. My Megrez 72 is my grab and go scope and I now have it on a Giro mini with counterweight bar and weight, so your solution should make it balance perfectly.
