Just got this from Argos at a bargain price:

Works fine on my laptop/Stellerium and less wires too.

Sorry but a bit dim here, but when you say less wires how, is this not just taking the place of a mouse or have I got it wrong?

Using EQmod allows you to use a wireless gamepad/joystick at the eyepiece.

Right, I normally use the handset to be honest even when the Mk1 eyeball is glued to the EP, a touch here, a touch there . I already have a wired one but have not been able to get it to work as yet with EQmod .

Doesn't EQMOD connect directly to the mount rather than the handset?

EQMOD driver to handset or EQMOD driver via EQDIR hardware to handset.

I have only ever handled the mount via the laptop thru handset, never directly. I had the devil of a job to get it working that way, a change now would not be in the best interest of my well being

Given that I've not had a dicky off the eqascom group - got a guide to setting up the ascompad with a wireless ps3 to drive an ascom scope ? that would really help !

For example - what did you do to get the Ps3 recognised as a wireless controller and receive events from it ? Don;t you have to install motion in Joy drivers for Bluetooth and suchlike ?

Indeed - thanks for that - but it doesn't assist in the detection of your gamepad in the first instance. Mine sits ther flashing all four leds when on a wired usb or a wireless connection. what's up ?
