Can any one help please. I was just collimating my scope and the thread on the bolt has gone . Can i get a replacement and what can I use in the mean time. Dave

Is the fan sucking in air or blowing out, not sure if it makes a difference but i was asked that question. I leave mine on for a couple of hours just to make sure it's cooled down enough before use.

I had a home made one. I made it from a thick yoga matt from Amazon it worked very good but for me after a while it started to lose shape. Be careful if you buy a new dew sheid, i brought a lynx astro one made for a 12" and it's too small. Dave

I've just noticed i caught M33 in the second photo.

No tracking just on a selfie stick 🤣. The phone takes a 4 minute shot and then stacks it for you. Dave

I have a gosky adapter which takes 1.25 EP . But i have coming today a gosky adapter which takes 2"EP. I find them very easy to use

Getting the hang of my new phone, the camera quality is excellent . New phone adapter arriving today so will be able to use with the dob. Google pixel 6 pro in astrophotography mode

Another question. I like the wheels on my dob , makes my life so much easier and quicker getting the dob out. Would the EQ platform work with this setup or could i do some modification to make it work . Dave.

Hi all. I was looking at purchasing an EQ platform for my dob. i came across this kit which is a lot cheaper , i was wondering if anyone has used one or got one. would it work just as well as an EQ platform. Dave

Brought a new phone and couldn't wait to test out the camera. Forecast was cloudy skies so didn't get the dob out, but it was clear for 2 hours so set my phone on the tripod. Google pixel 6 Pro in astrophotography mode

Andromeda galaxy No telescope, no tracking. Google pixel 6 Pro, on tripod. 4 minutes in astrophotography mode , no editing I think the phone stack,s and edits it self

Standing here looking up at the stars while the dob is cooling down. Looked up at mirach and almach not sure which one as it caught me by surprise,. There was 2 brighter stars beneath it , thinking I've never seen that before, looked like orion's. belt. They started moving down towards the trees away from the star keeping the same distance from each other. I can rule out planes no flashing lights and going down too fast. Not a satellite going down too close to the horizon. Not meteorites . It happen around 9 if anyone else saw it or managed to photo it. Dave

When I done a star test I found out I had pinched optics, instead of concentric rings it was more of a triangle

After grinding down some metal pipes and some mud feet from an old carp chair. I've raised it 3.5 ", now it's tall enough and stable.

I'm using a cheap gosky phone adapter, it only fits my 1.25 ep's. Is there a good phone adapter to fit a large 2" 30mm ep. Anyone using one they would recommend. Dave

Looks more comfortable then my ironing chair. I suppose I can keep the wife happy and do more ironing

So I managed to find a cheap used ironing chair but it's a couple of inches to small if I have the scope pointing straight up (which isn't often). Any ideas , I thought of some 4x2 wood with holes in it for the feet to slide in it or drill 2 holes further up. Dave

I've been looking at buying a cheap chair so I can sit comfortably when observing and managed to find a cheap used ironing chair. very comfortable could do with being a bit higher by a couple of inches.. Have to wait for a clear sky to try it out.
