    Am I doing something wrong here. When I load my lights and start the register checked pictures process .... when I get to counting the stars it comes up with found 4 stars (or even none) even though I take the slider down under 10%. Is it that I have done the capture process wrong ??

    Looking at the histogram of your image there appears to be little blue in the aura.

    Can you tell us your equipment and setting for this please.

    Yes I think it's all down to the camera sensor and what colours it processes well, I know the Nikon and Canon cameras differ quite a bit.

    Clear last night but only for an hour, so grabbed this shot of Orion Nebula..60 x 20seccanon 80D ... 500mm ..... f5.6 ..... iso 400no darks bias.AZ-GTI in Alt az mode.Bortle 6Deep Sky Stacker, lightroom and Phoroshop .

    Ok, fitted 3amp fuse close to positive terminal and connected to my AZ-GTI and it works a dream ..... hoping for a clear night to give it a full test.

    I have tried to follow your instructions but am unsure how to do this part "open Curves, and put a fixing point at the nearest bit of background sky before the bloat. Add a fixing point below that. Now you can pull down the curve above these points, playing with its shape, till the problem star behaves itself!"

    No camera not modded and no filters used.

    Flame and Horsehead with Canon 80D sigma 150-600mm @ 400mm ...... f5.6 .... iso 400 ..... Skywatcher AZ-GTI in AZ mode ... Bortle class 5. 60 x 30sec images 25 Darks 30 Bias Photoshop 2021.

    Ok I have imaged the following with my Canon 80D and 200-500mm lens AZ-GTI mount in AZ mode ..... I live in Mid Shropshire ....... in this order so far. Orion Nebula .... Andromeda Galaxy ..... Pleiades .... Bode's Galaxy ...... Flame/Horsehead ..... Beehive Cluster ..... I don't have a good view to the west. So please any suggestions where I should try next Thanks ....
