  1. Courtesy of @geeklee a wedge plate to attach my AzGti and my William Optics wedge. Smooth speedy delivery and sale. Let's hope your note Bodes 😉 well. Thanks Lee 👍
  2. I am a star tools owner too and love it. Like you I find the stretching of the image much easier than I used to in photoshop. Like yourself I use ps for the odd tweak of a high pass filter on certain areas. I sometimes use topaz denoise if it needs it. I know what you mean with some of the software setups, as much as the price, I don't think my brain could cope with all the processing and programming modules side of things. One day I may go there when I've grown an extra brain haha.
  3. Plus 1 for @TerraCstarting a thread of their own with their set up. Totally agree you don't need to spend a fortune to achieve great results in astrophotography, like all of us in this thread, I think we all like the challenge and pushing the boundaries, mine is down to portability mainly and can lift my set up and kit down stairs to the communal area outside. So these brilliant evoguide setups are even more portable astrophotography rigs, well impressed 👏
  4. Excellent image @TerraC your set up is making me jealous now 😁, what do you use for processing may I ask
  5. They are great. I really impressed with your images and it shows the evoguide is a brilliant scope for astrophotography. Plus unguided, you should be proud of your images. More integration time yes as with all astrophotography is better but you have shown what a gem your scope is. Your processing is coming along nicely too, your M31 is super 👍
  6. Great to see your set up it's looks superb. Yours and @bomberbazsetups really intrigued me. I would love to see your images you've mentioned. 👍
  7. I had 2 streetlights that were pestering me and I asked my local council if they could fit shields to them for me and 2 weeks later they were fitted. The council did say to me that some of the streetlights n the village are dimmed but I've seen no evidence of this.
  8. Yep, this is what I found at the weekend trawling the net, why it made me think sensor a tad close, but think it's a tilt issue, I've since fitted a rotator to fix the imaging train tight and will try this next before I go further.
  9. On alt az mode I was getting around 15-20 seconds at the maximum before stars began trailing. When I started in eq mode I was guiding so can't answer about eq. My focal length is 420mm 👍
  10. Glad to hear your making some progress Steve. I too saw the flattener for the evoguide and agree it's a good set up for your needs. Once you look through your box of bits there may be a good solution too. As you've seen it's a tested setup. Let us know how you get on be really interested 👍
  11. I have found this article and it seems someone has achieved fitting a guidescope with an attachment similar to a hot shoe https://nightskypix.com/evoguide-50ed-vs-redcat-51/
  12. Thank you, very kind. I'm sure I've read somewhere of the evoguide being used as the main imaging scope. I'll have a look. Could you attach the guidescope on a dovetail bar and attached to the tube rings on the evoguide . It sounds a perfect real lightweight setup indeed 👍
  13. It was 2 sets of images 2.5 hours with an 80% moon and no filter. Then 1.5 hours with an sv bony 2 inch ir uv cut filter. Both images stacked together and processed. Would of been nice to of had the total 4 hours with filter but I'm happy with the result 👍
  14. Taken with my sw 72ed AzGti eq mode zwo asi 294mc pro asiair pro. Not bad considering this mount isn't designed for astrophotography. 4 hours worth of data.
  15. Sounds like a brilliant plan baz, get digging that pit but once you do you'll love the results you get ftom the brilliant little mount 👍
  16. IC434 from North Cornwall. Taken with my sw 72ed AzGti eq mode zwo asi 294mc pro asiair pro. Also using a svbony 2 inch ir uv cut filter. 4 hours worth of data at 180sec exposures 120 gain and - 10 degree's over 3 nights. Guided with zwo 30mm guidescope and zwo asi120mc-s. Calibrated with darks, flats and dark flats. Stacked in deep sky stacker Processed in Startools, photoshop and topaz denoise. Pleased with this now and enough data in there to see. Great to see a mount not designed for astrophotography doing some actual astrophotography and baffoonary in processsing by me.
  17. A bit of practice on the PA then to get used to it Ray. Nice and easy with the asiair
  18. I had the chance of imaging IC434 last week with the moon out of the way using my sw 72ed AzGti eq mode zwo asi 294mc pro with svbony 2 inch filter. I did 30 180 sec subs at 120 gain - 10°. Processed in star tools, photoshop and topaz denoise. Then I combined my previous 2.5 hours of data without the filter and moonfilled night for a combined 4 hours data. Yes it isn't perfect the 4 hour image needs more work on it but I'm happy so far.
  19. Thank you sorry for being a bit dense here could you point out on my image as to which grub screws you mean
  20. I am going to try the rotator as a next step and see if this helps my issue. I have adjusted more tension previously to my focuser as it was slipping a bit when tightening the focus lock up. So solved that issue but had the eggy stars before this. I am in contact with FLO too and they have said a tilt adjuster and my rotator could solve the issue but want to try the rotator first to see if this solve it before shelling out for a tilt adjuster but I may need to. I'm wondering if adding a shim that was supplied with my camera would help though.
  21. I'd find it hard to correct the tilt in 3 corners as I have no tilt adjuster fitted. Inhave a rotator for my scope and wonder if fitting this may help instead of the visual back on there now. As my FF has a chamfered edge to it so when the thumbscrews connect coukd cause the tilt? (see attached image). I am using a svbony 2 in H ir uv cut filter attached to my FF but I have a zwo 1.25inch ir uv cut filter I coukd attach to the camera via the filter adapter.
  22. I have an sw 72ed on az gti mount in EQ mode, with my zwo asi294mc pro and I'm delighted with the images from my set up, 3 minute subs, guiding can range from 0.6-1.5 rms and I'm happy with that for what my mount can push. Yes I'd love a more sturdier tracking mount but I live in a first floor flat and have to take my setup and gear down 2 flights of stairs to an outside communal area to image so portability is key to me. The az gti mount can perform very admirably indeed and is a revelation in the astrophotography world.
  23. Hi I have eggy stars in mainly the top two corners but can see them eggy in the bottom corners now I can zoom in better. If you look at the core of the stars around the edge of the image you can see the drift off to the edge. Am I right in thinking that the sensor is too close to the FF. The images are single 3mins subs stretched I am using the correct 55mm of back focus but may need to use the shims provided with my zwo asi294mc pro. I took an inage with the camera rotated 90 degrees right and the same. My set up is sw 72ed AzGti eq mode zwo asi 294mc pro.
