    Hi there

Hi and welcome to sgl, theted. So mu h help to be had here and plenty of good advice 👍
  2. Hi and welcome to sgl, I'm in the south west but probably a lot more sw here in Cornwall, have fun on the site 👍
  3. Welcome to sgl, hope you find some great advice here their are loads of members with the vast knowledge 👍
  4. Welcome to sgl shell. I agree though I'm not taking a hammer to mine my wallet couldntvtaje another splurge haha, not looking good this week for any of us I think, well me certainly, hope the skies clear soon 😊
  5. Yes keep collecting the images definitely but start a fresh session for this target, hopefully the rotation and focus will be sorted and the fresh images will stack and process much better 👍
  6. Heres my quick effort using star tools (probably pushed it a little to hard) and a tweak in photoshop. As said before the focus is out/soft and because of the stacking artefacts had to crop in quite aggressively softening it too. But you've some good photons indeed, just need to sort the focus out, more subs and you're there really. (looks better on laptop) 👍
  7. @LaurenceTmay be of help to you as I think he has a pi 👍 I use an asiair pro, so can't help on that account sorry
  8. I don't use synscan and I maybe being thick here and probably am, but is it because the target is just near or past the meridian? It came to me in a flash of brilliance and will leave me ignorant 😂
  9. It's probably when you upload it appears more on devices and such. As when I upload any images to here or other sources then the image degrades a bit so yours could be doing the same. I'm sure someone who knows about uploading files will advise better. Regarding starting your blog you can put it in places you suggested and start a thread there, but don't leave us completely 🥺
  10. I bought this one from RVO a few years ago but others are available on amazon and look same https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/ovl-laser-collimator-1252.html
  11. Brilliant Stu, great to see the lift off in action, look forward to you kitting it out and first light, 👍👏
  12. Keep the imaging up when you get the opportunity, there's too many cloudy skies to stop the imaging 😉. I'd have a look but I'm at work atm, but will try later if possible.
  13. Hi I pretty much went straight over to an asiair pro after this, just wanted something easy and without hulking the laptop out with everything else. If you go over to the az gti mount owners thread, someone there is bound to help you Cheers Lee https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/387014-skywatcher-az-gti-mount-owners-thread/
  14. Still a great image Ray, keep at it, I'm really impressed with what your set up is getting, can't wait to see more. A filter maybe of some use to add more contrast but you may have to image for slightly longer to allow those photons through the filter.
  15. Great image and lovely colours in there. What length were your subs being unguided. As you've a lot of detail in there 👍. Not a criticism but is the focus out a bit?
  16. Brilliant to hear you got the your set up out on Sunday, it's a brilliant image Ray, you got your target, well done 👏 also these subs can go towards your next imaging session on the great Orion Nebula too. Elps advice on the scope pointing down is great and will hopefully sort your issue out. The guiding you were getting is super too, I'd definitely settle for those figures with the az gti, like Elps I can get down to 0.5-0.8 on some occasions but that's with still air but normally around what you've been getting 👍. I find star tools a lovely piece of software to use and so easy too. You're well on the way now Ray 😊
  17. To focus loosen the collar marked with the orange arrow then turn the part marked with the red arrow until focus is achieved then tighten the collar marked by the orange arrow.
  18. This thread pardon the pun maybe of assistance. I've taken the nose piece off my ovl FF and screwed a rotator from FLO to it, it's hard to get the nose piece off but doable. https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/337227-sky-watcher-camera-rotator-for-72ed-now-available/
  19. Thank you and some great advice there. I think I will go down the visual route for now, like you suggested M42, M45, double cluster a few doubles and bright galaxies if my scope can handle it. I'll use my hyperflex zoom lens, maybe in conjunction with my 32mm lens possibly. Then maybe no need to swap lens out. Hopefully they will gain some joy with seeing those targets and wet their appetites. 😊
  20. Thank you, glad you like it so much, I'm blown away you wanted it as a wallpaper, you can post the royalties fee to Delabole Cornwall or the boys will be round 🤣
