First night with the Rowan belt upgrade...
Neil H replied to Sterrenland's topic in Discussions - Mounts
If I am working on anything with tiny bolts of washers I put a sheet down and work over that due to the fact I lost a tiny bolt and washer well over 7 years ago and still not found it in the rug Glad the belt mod helped your guiding I did mine just to stop the rattles, well done finding the washer -

Barlow & Lens - best combos
Neil H replied to Dominic's topic in Getting Started Equipment Help and Advice
Hi if you want a baader hyperion zoom and matching Barlow there one on Astro buy and sell for £150 -
Hi I did have that software but it had stars missing from lists and all stars in the plough were out of altitude you won't know till you link to your telescope that's when you find out it's not working it will not goto any star unless it's Polaris
-
Hi Steve I think I tried most of that , I am going dongle less for the time being and see if they do a fix for Android 11, I will use stellariaum and sky safari for targets May be in the future if I go back to a dongle we could meet up as see if you can make it all work I am just down the road from you in Luton
-
Hi guys I did uninstall and reinstall then loaded ok but still says Polaris ok but any other star in the plough is a no go due to out of altitude default is 75% I tried 60% which as low as it will go and 90% still no joy Giving up now every night last week I tried things but still no joy
-
Hi Steve yes I did and it didn't work that's when I was asked to try 11882
-
Hi yes I think so I will check again Yes I did I just checked , I think it's now got to a point of getting refund on Wi-Fi dongle and just use tablet for target info etc
-
Hi I am trying to see if I can get Synscan Wi-Fi to work with stellariaum , when I go into telescope connection it can't link location , in settings locations it correct but in main screen when you ask telescope to goto it has a icon at bottom of screen to remind you location is not in synchronised
-
Hi yes I have it on my phone and tablet so hoping the tablet will work ok with Synscan app
-
Yeah a real pain , I don't give up easy I really downloaded everything again just in case something strange happened when downloading, sky watcher are looking into it so are sky safari Just wonder if I can use stellariaum and how do I go about getting stellariaum to talk to the Synscan dongle
-
Hi as you may know I am having problems with Synscan app and star safari 6 pro , I can't get it working on a brand new tablet running Android 11 Shall I try stellariaum and see if that works can some one tell me how to set up please

Hi Paul I sent message to sky watcher but not holding my breath I hate doing videos but will have to if that's the only way -
Hi everyone I am having problems so I will list equipment and then the problem I am having HEQ5pro mount SW Wi-Fi dongle Samsung galaxy tab 7 Lite running Android 11 Ok I have the Synscan app downloaded from sky watcher web site now the main problem is most of the star list is missing I was trying to find Alcor which does not come up in any list , wookie1965 sent me a video were he touched the magnify glass and as he typed in Alcor the star came up top of the list then touched goto When I do the same as I type the name in the star list goes off the screen and it cant find Alcor ? The next problem is with sky safari 6 pro , this is hard to explain I can touch Polaris and the mount goes to it , then it I touch dubhe the mount does not move but on the screen shows coordinates changing but mount is not moving ? This does this on lots of targets the mount don't move but shows coordinates changing as if the mount is moving Also I found if I use this app on my old galaxy S6 it works and shows the full star list . So I wonder if it's due to Android 11

Hi yes has a really big data base , also gives you what's best targets for the night your out , you can also add your own list of targets to work through plus it can link to your telescope so no hand set is needed
-
Hi thanks for info I think my phone memory is tiny and it won't load , so I am looking at a tablet just to run telescope and astronomy apps , I think this one may be a good bet https://www.amazon.co.uk/TECLAST-P20HD-Processor-Acceleration-1920x1200/dp/B08BZL81QZ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2LM59LBBH2VH2&keywords=android+tablets+10+inch&qid=1641722323&s=computers&sprefix=Android%2Ccomputers%2C209&sr=1-3
-
No I didn't thanks for the heads up

-
