  1. I thibk I'm on the right way now! Thanks to all who helped me! When I inserted the camera I pushed it all the way in which was wrong.. Now I attached the extender on the cam and inserted only the extender into the scope and now I can focus! This was not written in the manual which is not very good for totally beginners like me..
  2. The camera has never been used before so I hope everything works..... What do you mean 162 cm from the objective? I have the camera fully inserted into the guidescope. Today I will try to focus during the day on a distant object...
  3. I tried that.. I guess I have to try it again when I can see the moon... Because I can't se any stars in that crazy noise..
  4. What do you mean? I have my laptop next to my scope if that's what you mean.
  5. Oh... Thanks! Will that help the focusing?
  6. Yea I have this scope : https://www.telescope.com/mobileProduct/Orion-Mini-50mm-Guide-Scope/99607.uts?keyword=Guide There is no moon right now so I tried to focus on Vega but no stars on screen..
  7. Okey, so how do I focus the best way? I have tried 1-6 seconds and still really noisy..
  8. Today was the first clear night in almost 1 month and of course something ruined it! I was going to start using my guide cam and scope for the first time and I couldn't get it to work... I have the ZWO asi 120 mm mini with a 50mm guidescope. I have installed the cam drivers and phd2, but when I connect the camera all I see is noise. I have focused the guidescope with a regular eye piece on a bright star but on the camera all I see is noise... PLEASE HELP!
  9. What's the best settings for dithering? I use apt
  10. I just bought a guide cam and scope but haven't used it yet. But are you sure that I won't need Darks when dithering? I have seen people dither and use Darks..
  11. Is it a good option to do sets of Darks, Flats and bias frames with different ISO and exposures in different outdoor temperaturea to save time while the day comes to do astrophotography? Now I spend maybe 2h doing lights and 1h of the other frames which is not very fun to loose 1h of extra possible light data.. I know that the dust on censor and outdoor temperatures are important. I have seen some people have pre-made folders for these frames to save time, but what are your thoughts on this? I only have a Canon eos 1100d so I know that the temperature frames is alittle harder than a ccd camera.
  12. Awesome photos! Is that camera a "budget" cooled camera or a mediocre one? And what is "APP"?
  13. I have canon eos 1100D and I have read that the best ISO setting for this camera is 1600 for best noise reduction, but should I always use ISO 1600? And how do you choose the shutterspeed for each target? I have seen some use 60 sec with many frames and some use 300 sec and with less frames on the same target... Do you just guess and see or what? I know that a dslr camera gets hotter the longer shutterspeed you use so whats the maximum for dslr?
  14. What's the difference between free and pro? I cannot find any details about that..
  15. Okey thanks for answer. I might go for that bundle then 😊
  16. I want to take longer exposures without startrails. So I need a guidecms with guidescope..
  17. Hmm Okey. I have used my eos 1100d very very little over the years so it's like brand new..
