  1. I use ISO 1600 because that's the best ISO for my camera. I went for ISO 1600 x 200sec, I'll edit the image today and post it here. The only light pollution filter I have is a optolong L-eNhance Dual Narrow band, and that's only for nebulas right?
  2. Hi! Right now Im shooting M81 with my modified canon eos 1100D. Im currently trying different exposure settings and i need help. this is ISO 1600 x 300sec Do I loose data at that exposure? (overexposure) or should I go with 200 or even lower?
  3. Wow thank you for a detailed answer! Now I got even more confused.. But that's astrophotography right? 😂 Big thanks!
  4. I'm new to Astrophotography and I'm just wondering what is the "top" magnitude you image? I know that the lower the magnitude is the more visible it is, so what is your limit when imaging and how do you know if an dso has to high magnitude? Im using stellarium, skysafari etc and in the settings you can adjust the magnitude to a limit so higher magnitude won't show up, so that's why I'm asking so I don't waste any time on very faint dsos. I hope you understand my question..
  5. Are you using any filter? I just purchased OPT L-eNhance duo band filter, can I use it on starclusters is is it better if I remove it and just go with my modded dslr? And how many subs did you take?
  6. Is there a calendar to see what dso/galaxys etc is the best time to photograph? I know that spring is "galaxy season" but is there a site or calendar for the whole year?
  7. I just purchased a rowan belt lod for heq 5 pro and as of right now I'm trying to remove the small gear part... I completely missed that people bought a pin extractor.. So how do I do this without one??
  8. okey thanks, I forgot to add that I choosed a cluster of stars instead to shoot tonight, is it a waste of time to do this too?
  9. hi! Today is full moon and clear skies and Im wondering how you plan nights like this? Do you shoot star clusters or do you still do nebulas and galaxys but with less exposure? This is my first full moon with clear skies and I tried to shoot Pleiades but the image went almost totally blue on the APT histogram...
  10. I cannot go to pixinsight website, its blocked on all my browsers... I can enter it on my mobile without any problems... Any tips?
  11. Hi! I am having trouble with phd2. I have polar aligned my scope using sharpcap pro and the error is around 0,09-0,19. I have calibrated phd2 near Meridian line for around 1000 seconds and applied the corrections but my error is really high.. PLEASE whats wrong? Also, should I enable pixels or arc seconds in phd2? Currently I'm using arc seconds.
  12. Okey so I can just skip that step? It's an annoying step to do all the time when I want to AP. Remove scope, remove mount head, level tripod, screw on head, put on scope... So many steps 😅
  13. I have seen some videos (astro backyard etc.) when they assemble the gear for the night they don't level the tripod at all, they just carry it out on the ground and start directly with the scope balancing. Is it really necessary to level the tripod if you have somewhat flat backyard?
  14. It's balanced, but I have a very light scope so it's hard to notice any difference if I adjust it forwards or backwards..
  15. I use 2s exposure on the guidecam
  16. I ran it for about 5 min before taking this pic.. And it did some adjustments. But maybe I have to do it for a longer time?
  17. I did a good polar alignment with sharpcap pro (error around 0.2) But still I have bad guiding.. I have high RA error, any tips?
  18. Do I need to increase the distance between my field flattner and my camera? Or is that just for Cmos cameras? Im using this field flattner: https://www.firstlightoptics.com/reducersflatteners/ovl-field-flattener.html
  19. I choosed the Optolong L-eNhance Dual Narrowband filter. 170$ on aliexpress 😄
  20. I saw a video that that filter produces halos around the stars, have you noticed that?
  21. It's about 50 dollars more than what I planned... But I guess I have to stretch the budget if I have to. The price is almost the same between those 2 filters, so which one is the better one? Or are they the same? Just different manufacturers?
  22. Hi Im planning on buying a duo narrow and filter for my modded dslr and for an upcoming cooled camera (osc) Im wondering if anyone have any good tips on what brand etc to use. I have seen ZWO and stc sells duo narrow bands. https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/product/zwo-duo-band-filter I don't want to spend a fortune on this filter so this is the cheapest I have found. What I need is a 2" filter that I thread on my field flattner right? Im new to this hobby so I need all help I can get
