  1. Visited Stump Cross Caverns in the late 80s, remember it being on a high area plateau. Would like to see how dark it is, it's bortle 4.5-5 hereabouts on a good night. Also did White scar caverns, and Ingleton waterfall trail.
  2. Too much cloud would you believe, I called it off at 01.30.
  3. Looking cloudy hereabouts , looking better in South West England.
  4. I just read this about the Winchcombe meteorite. https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-63631563.amp
  5. That is quite bright, and the way it found the gap from your perspective was lucky. Should be clear spells tonight, not sure the clag will clear here, before rain comes in from the east, and then west! Hopefully the predicted Leonid enhancement shows up.
  6. This is just my view Tonight should have clear intervals for southern areas, closest to the south coast the better. Tomorrow night should have clear spells for central southern areas and midlands and eastern England. Cloudy weather moving east and reaching the east coast mid morning
  7. Hello Michael Thanks for your reply The exposures are 10-20 seconds, I've tried using another infra-red remote as I have two of the same make and model. One remote is faulty, as the camera seems to be working as it should be for now. I will test it out tomorrow night.
  8. Hello I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar problem to this. When using my Pentax K70 in continuous shooting mode with wireless remote, the camera doesn't always take a series of shots. Instead it will take a single shot when I press the remote. But without altering any any settings, if I press the remote again it will sometimes take another single shot, or start taking the series of shots as it's supposed to. It will then keep taking the shots untill the battery is low, or sometimes it will stop after a few shots. It seems to make no difference if I use a fully charged battery or not. Every other shooting mode seems to work as it's supposed to. The lens is in manual focus as is the camera. Thanks
  9. It's very misty tonight, but mostly clear ATM, only able to get 10sec f3.5 exposure at 1250 IS0 ,as it blows out. Edit Low cloud now covering most of the sky.
  10. I wonder how cloudy it will be in blighty 🤔 "The Leonids, arguably history’s most important annual meteor shower" ?? Not sure why they wrote it's arguably history s most important meteor shower. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/845129-interesting-leonids-2022/
  11. Check this live cam for the next 15mins +- 100,000 years.
  12. East Anglia I think this misty weather is heading North , make the most of any clear skies you have now. Murky moon at midnight
  13. Low cloud moving in now, a claggy night hereabouts. Misty can't see any stars.
  14. Just looking through those UKMON cameras, and there's a location named (nettleham s) I'm guessing that means the camera is pointing south? But the picture from that camera shows the plough. Alot of cloud arrived from the south recently, looks clearer in northern/western England.
  15. It must take a while to check your video for meteors. Do you have to watch them back in realtime? I noticed timeanddate doesn't list the Taurids in the meteor showers, the hourly rates are too low I expect. Hopefully a couple of clear-ish nights coming up for eastern UK Friday/Saturday for the Taurids, maybe early Leonids too.
  16. I just noticed this had gone red by chance earlier by checking the Aurorawatch graph https://aurorawatch.lancs.ac.uk/ I've now installed the AuroraWatch UK app. And I have the Glendale Aurora app. We just need the clear sky and crescent moon app 🤔
  17. It's cloudy with a near full moon 👍 https://aurorawatch.lancs.ac.uk/
  18. My friend calls it Thunderbirds 1 , it's Bury St Edmunds.
  19. Caught this with my phone about 17.30
  20. Anyone in northern England and Scotland could be worth trying for Aurora now
  21. Foggy here visibility about 200 yards. Fog has dispersed, high cloud moving in
