  1. Hi all, please find attached solar activity images from the 1st and 14th April 2024. Lunt 60mm DS and Bresser 100mm stopped to 80mm with a lunt Cak b1800 module.
  2. Thanks Luke, great image, thanks for sharing.
  3. If you're going for a 50mm double stack unit you might as well buy the 50mm lunt because you'll lose 10mm. I've got the 60mm double stack as mentioned b4 and not looked back. I do use a tilt unit but that's only for imaging. Yes some people do use a black cloth over the scope and head. Double stack is really for better surface detail rather than prominences.
  4. Had a lovely session this morning. Two large filaproms on the North Western Limb. Could even be remnant of a CME it was moving significantly over the time I was observing.
  5. Got the partial phase from South West of England just now, sooooo excited.
  6. Happy eclipse chasing tomorrow, hope it's clear for you. On the other side of the pond I'm waiting for 2026 and 2027, lol.
  7. The one I'm thinking about is from Northern Spain. It's not that expensive for sure.
  8. And why not do it in style if you're going to watch an eclipse Jeremy. Makes perfect sense to me 😂
  9. Hi all, just over 2yrs away is a relatively close to travel to, Total Solar Eclipse. I was looking at tours to observe this having originally booked with Astro Tours but cancelled due to probable cost. I've since found Cunard will be doing a cruise to observe this eclipse at a reasonable price for a weeks cruise. Sounds good to me, I nice cruise including the eclipse, very civilised, lol. Just thought other's might be interested. I've no association with Cunard so I won't get rich by highlighting the above, 😂
  10. Thanks josefk, love that book, it's my go to for all things solar.
  11. Go on, you know you want to, 😂
  12. It's what they're using for the new Artimus lunar missions to accurately land on the moon, lol 😂
  13. Postie brought an eaglemoss tellurium bought from fleebay. Nice little orrery of the Sun, Moon and Earth. Really smooth rotation. Nice addition to my astronomy collection, lol. Messenger_creation_e8b5c1bc-0224-4b4e-8064-d6894ceda84c.mp4
  14. Thanks everyone, it was a surprisingly large eruption. I would dare to say a coronal mass ejection.
  15. Hi all, just getting around to processing my March images. First two days of twelve days here. Lunt 60mm DS and Lunt cake b1800 module with 100mm bresser.
  16. Another sunny day at the office and it's not an April fool, 😂
  17. Another solar session today but fighting with fast moving and at times completely clouded over. Chasing the gaps in the clouds 😭
  18. Another solar session today. Lots of flaring and a huge hedge row prom on the South Eastern limb.
  19. Surely it's more like, "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die." Lol 😆
