  1. Hi all, in this wet weather here at my new home in Devon I've been playing with avi files that I've not processed to date. Here's a belated Mercury Transit image. Lunt 60mm Double Stack, Solarquest Mount and Zwo Asi 120mm. False colour added in photoshop CS2.
  2. Yay, got my hard copy today of the BAA December journal with my image on the front cover.
  3. Welcome to the forum, ask away with any questions you may have.
  4. Welcome Neal to the forum, have fun and ask any questions you may have about the hobby. Great peps on here that can help.
  5. Awwwww, that's lovely, I'll have to watch it on YouTube. Got an email regarding the BAA Christmas meeting lecture but haven't had time to watch it yet. Thanks Jeremy for the heads up. Didn't expect to be mentioned during that. Nice though. Will be watching it tomorrow.
  6. Nice piece of engernearing, well done. I'll be starting on my area in the new year.
  7. Just had an email from the BAA, as I'm a digital member they're sending me two hard copies of the December journal, that's made my day even more wonderful.
  8. Thanks everyone, really appreciate all your comments. Although we don't do this hobby for praise, it's nice to get recognition for all the hour's we put into amateur astronomy.
  9. I actually would love to do that, but not infamous enough, lol.
  10. Hi all, one of my Mercury transit image's has made both the British Astronomical Association's December journal and the Mercury and Venus section news letter. Really chuffed, never made print before, lol.
  11. Hiya, no it's the circuit breaker kind MCB's didn't know the technical jargon, lol. Shed has an MCB. Thanks Gordon.
  12. Yep sharpcap to polar align your mount first, it's a great piece of software and easy to align, just follow the instructions during alignment.
  13. I'd go for guiding first with an added light pollution filter and get the slr modded. I use an old modded Canon 1000d with a D2 Idas filter but I have led street lights near me.
  14. Hi Dan, welcome to the forum, great place to ask questions and great peps on here. Have fun with your Christmas present, hopefully the skies will be clear for you.
  15. Thanks, good news, I think. I've beaten my way through the Bush into the garden shed and it's wired up and working. It seems from the fuse trip box it has it's own fuse (don't know the technical terms). It has it's own on/off switch in the bungalow. Anyway I can run a spur from that which will only be 4m away. All I need to do now is to lay 2 cat6 cable's in a trench to the bungalow into the loft and down into the second reception room. Thing's aren't looking to complicated now.
  16. Yeah, love the reflection in the water. Brilliant, well done and thanks for sharing.
  17. Goodness, you're very lucky it wasn't worse. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Well done catching the sun today.
  19. Thanks, that's something else to think about. Laying less cables is certainly attractive.
  20. Thanks Olly and Carole. I love simple, all that can/needs/suggested is mind boggling. I think the two computers and team viewer sounds interesting.
  21. Welcome, don't get to bogged down with equipment. Some lovely photos can be taken using basic equipment. Experiment with your equipment and develop your skills and work flow. Also, don't forget to have fun.
