  1. I don't think i'll be jumping in first on the Evscope. I'll let others write the reviews first. It's a lot of money for what MIGHT be a gimmick in a cute package. It'll suit some people though, maybe even me. Anyhow you can buy one now it seems at a reduced price to get things rolling. The reduced price looks like being the second hand price too if you pay full price of $2200 so you might not lose out at all.
  2. My new heritage 130p works well on this fab mount. Tried the M12 bar but the thread is too recessed for this bar to fit. I don't need the bar for my heritage but just thought I'd try it. Will have a stab too using rechargeable AA batteries just to see if they work as the voltage should be fine according to the SW instructions at 9.6v. Loving it ?
  3. Yippee dee doo dah. Just received the email from FLO. AZGTI mount (head only) is dispatched a month earlier than expected.
  4. Go on. Take her to the ballet one cloudy night
  5. Delivery during June I've been advised by Martin today. It's to be expected I reckon. They're quite popular.
  6. Hi. I'm quite close to buying one of these dinky mounts. As it says it can run on voltages from 7.5 to 14, does this suggest it will happily run on AA rechargeable batteries? They would add up to 9.6V. A while back I had a nexstar se mount which didn't like rechargeables one bit ofcourse.
  7. Ordered it. It came. TSOptcs. I am not unhappy. Very smooth motions. Very easy to adjust tension with the big black twistly collars. Matches my OTA. I have a counterweight M12 bar which fits it if needed. The bearings appear to be big white plastic discs. Telefon I presume. Zero wobble.OTA needs to be balanced. Very pleased for 99 Euros.
  8. I use a 1.5 watt trickle solar panel from Maplins to top up my power tank. It lived in my shed for several years and still seems ok. I'm no expert though. I do charge it from the mains every now a then. It's 10 yrs old now.
  9. Nobody heard of this mount?
  10. Hi I've been reading about the TSOptics AZT6-GR https://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p9115_TS-Optics-Altazimuth-Travel-Mount-for-astro-and-photo-tripods---support-up-to-6-kg.html. I understand that this mount head is also the same one found at AltairAstro. Does anybody have any experience of this mount? I'm hoping to use it as my travel setup with my 80mm Achro at 2.5kgs. Thank you.
  11. I have a CA full ST120. The CA is an indicator of where to look. Look at the blue highlight, the moon is the thing I'm meant to be looking at to the right of the blue highlight. CA flags up where to look. Can be quite useful. When i put my cardboard home made 80mm/f8 aperture reduction device on, the CA disappears and i can't find the moon anymore.
  12. Now that's an analysis that really hits the nail. We'll just have to see how the evscope actually fits into the market. Mobile phone companies never thought txt messages would take off until teenagers showed them how to really use them
  13. I personally wont go for the first evscope, but maybe the second version when the ironing has been done and the reviews are out. Failing that the revolution imager r2 and the sw azgti seem to be better economy for around £600 complete with good reviews for entry level EAA.
  14. I know little of video astronomy so I apologise for my shallow query. I've read online about the Unistella evscope and info on YouTube show image capture similar to those taken by the Atik infinity camera. Do they use the same tech? I see the evscope is goto and app driven, but is it just an assembly of current tech ready for retail. Or is the evscope something new? It mentions an image intensifier in it's write up which are only available in the USA. Thanks
  15. Rothervalley helped me buy my 130pds recently. It was so refreshing to order over the phone and get rapid info on stock level and accessories. Email works well for these enquiries too, but I always find that just as I've hit send i think of another question. Over the phone enquiries are dealt with so quickly. All in all a great seemless service. ?
  16. First member to get a ANY pic of the milky way from the outside
  17. Spot the diff. Like put a dso or cluster in the wrong place by editing and see who can spot it. Or just remove something big or faint altogether
  18. Love my little Revelation 80 HR achro. Don't need no fringe killer. Achro delivers so much. Yes I wish the build quality was there for the achros though.
