    Hi all

Welcome maybe add what equipment you used to take these images great by the way... Great job...
  2. you should be using a microfibre cloth for optical use like https://www.firstlightoptics.com/astronomy-optics-cleaning-protection/calotherm-professional-microfibre-cleaning-cloth-24-x-21.html or https://www.firstlightoptics.com/astronomy-optics-cleaning-protection/baader-optical-wonder-set-cleaning-fluid-and-cloth.html
  3. Welcome also the SGL enjoy
  4. James, Many thanks for all your hard work greatly appreciated. Just thought appropriate rather than an emoji Kudos Andy
  5. what product are you using to clean the the corrector "Front glass section of the scope"
  6. At work we use "Bostik Never Seez" Under lock and key as expensive. Molykote do an alternative a lot cheaper don't know if you can get a few gram's in a tube https://www.dupont.com/products/molykote-p-37-antiseize-paste.html
  7. the pink version with the frilly cuffs work better
  8. For me I once had my OVL FF locked onto a spacer. I bathed the spacer up to the joint in some warm water to heat it up a little and it gave in. no harm to the OVL FF
  9. Well Deep-Sky Companions: The Caldwell Object never turned up so looking for a copy
  10. Francesco Firecapture can be downloaded from http://www.firecapture.de latest release 2.7 as of March 2022 Andy
  11. Well my friend in the UK has not yet received it so a pain will give the supplier till end of the month then search for another copy and seek a refund via Abebooks . The last one well certainly is a hidden treasure and expensive. Andy
  12. and the hole in the middle of the 2 screws is for a dead man switch (install a bolt there ) as if you ever loosen the dovetail in the mount and you are not on the ball the scope will slip backwards and hit the deck ouch
  13. they are there because that is there purpose underneath the tube rings
  14. anyway looks like a spring washer so the user can rotate the bracket for your purpose not needed
  15. I don't use washers there as serves no purpose as the lip on the dovetail takes the (whats the english word) strain/rigidity
  16. Your first image what is the U shaped black bracket for? as per the dovetail rails you would mount the tube rings onto the dovetail rail as per pic 2 long bar upper one (longer) in its current orientation
  17. Josh One of these should do the job just unscrew existing rear plate and screw this in its place https://www.modernastronomy.com/shop/accessories/finder-guider-adapters/fg-sky-watcher-clones/skywatcher-clones-to-c-mount-adapter-for-straight-through-finders/
  18. Daz you are going to need at least 50mm extension attached to the focus tube up to you either threaded or push fit.
