  1. Dang! we posted at the same time but your comment beat me to it
  2. Absolutely mate. Getting close to the auto-focus dreams one bit at a time. Hopefully will be somewhere nearer to it come winters
  3. Making an already amazing scope even better. Super excited for you "good boy"
  4. The postman brought me nothing fancy like most of you but quite important (for me) a cable which will be used to hook up (soon to be bought) Lakeside motorised focuser to my Pegasus Ultimate Powerbox. One step closer to achieving the good results.
  5. wowzer! Congratulations on the canon Derek.
  6. I hinted my wife and kids for a PS4 Pro as the fathers day gift, then slowly shifted the idea towards a more reasonable gift ... the motorized focuser which i really needed which i thought i got through to them ... one night i was looking at some cologne for myself, left the page open on the desktop and went to sleep ... 2 days later, my wife and kids surprised me to that cologne ... clearly 4 times a day hint wasn't enough ... i should've been more direct lol
  7. Mate, wish I knew something to help you with it. I’ve been trolling through the forum and different posts and yet to build my own obsy some point in the future but I guess your post had ignited that flame within me to get up from my bottom and install and play around with the software.
  8. I tend to use a variety of apps/websites to make a decision. I must admit, i've only got it wrong a handful of times and a few times when i thought "Damn it looks clear right now so seems like i've misjudged the predictions" have actually turned out to be a miserable cloudy night any way. I couldn't care less like RayD about the bad seeing, as long as it's clear and will remain like that for the entire imaging session, i'll be out.
  9. 1:10.8 for me. Been using this with my SCT with 3 min exposures and no issues. Well when i say no issues, that's to the naked eye of course
  10. Yes, text would most certainly help. Or maybe some sort of an indicator (Traffic light system) or even better a legend to suggest what the numbers mean.
  11. That's a really good addition. I look forward using this
  12. Here's an idea, do what the animals do. p155 around the observatory and mark your territory. This should keep the opportunists away
  13. Ok, that's the first time i've seen this so i stand correct but i wasn't wrong either. You have to pay for the major release and they're thinking of producing one major release every year and if they don't then no yearly fee (at least that's how i'm reading it). Any way, not trying to steer away from the topic, this is my first purchase of SGP and absolutely loving it. @RayD videos are amazing and have really helped me a lot
  14. I'm sorry but I think you're slightly wrong here Ray. You don't have to pay annually but for every major release (v3, v4, v5, v6 etc etc) you will have to but for the minor release (v3. 1, v3.2, v3. 3 etc) you don't.
  15. Downloaded ... your first user ... will test this further. What do i get being your first downloader?
  16. That certainly looks the part. Any chance sharing the love?
  17. This thread has given me a few neat ideas. Can't wait to see the final build Good luck
  18. Same, NB is my thing too. LRGB i went for ZWO because no matter which brand i would've went for, i won't be able to achieve better results since i live in a heavily light polluted area. So whatever i can salvage from LRGB, i'll be happy with
  19. Gina, that's exactly what the plan is. Unfortunately Astrodon filters were just a tad too much for me so i've gone with the ZWO 31mm LRGB filters and for NB, i've gone ahead with Astronomik 31mm 6nm complete set. Awaiting delivery so let's see what this brings to the table
  20. It's ok mate, not to worry. Well without the reducer i'll be working at native F/10 and 2032m FL which is going to be very slow and narrow FOV. To give myself a fighting chance a reducer is required to bring the F ration down to F/7 @ 1422m FL. In short, more photons in less time than the native f ratio with better fov Does that answer your question?
