  1. I have one and use it with the SkyWatcher 2"/28mm LET|LER [the only 2" eyepiece I have] with my TeleVue Ranger.
  2. Hi Geo. It is a TeleVue Ranger... 480/70mm semi-achro mounted on a Tele-Optic Giro GR-DX ll.
  3. Hi @Seoras ...same from me too! No issues with the finderscope positioned on the underside on my C6/SCT.
  4. Hi @Aeroket and welcome to SGL. Amazing image and well done.
  5. Pity poor engineer that has to clean and polish those lens elements. Could be an insect's worst nightmare too!
  6. I saw this on UKAB&S earlier... 😅 Only to be let down a few minutes later... 😭
  7. Though I do not own either, it has got to be the Questar 3.5 or the original LOMO Astelle 60 'Mini-Mak'. As a compromise I have my 're-modded' Meade ETX105...
  8. As per what @Elp says above. A dew shield is a must have [a minimum of 1/3rd of the focal length of the OTA is recommended] and so is the cooling down to ambeint. I give my C6/SCT and 're-modded' ETX105 a minimum of thirty minutes and leave the end cap on the visual back/eyepiece port off facing skywards when it is on the mount before I insert an e/p or other accessory.
  9. In my local supermarket many years past, the cashier's first name was Ng. I politely asked her how she pronounced it. 议员 ...this is the spelling of Ng in 'Chinese Simplified'.
  10. At 10:43 this morning, using the Aliexpress.com tracker, saying: 'Out for delivery/Arrived at transit office'. So far, I cannot fault SVBONY for the status updates.
  11. It matches the flooring! ...minus the 'Bacofoil'.
  12. Hi @Joef and welcome to SGL. Sorry to read about the loss of your DJI drone. I to used to fly r/c helicopters and buggies (electric). I have sold them all, apart from my Tamiya 1/10 F2 Martini Mk.22 Renault. I just need to find somewhere that is selling spares for it, as the plastic chassis parts are aging, and the tyres are worn, as it is no longer in production. I now fly kites and last year [2021] purchased an Ailsa pond yacht to go with a smaller plastic yacht that I have had since I was a young boy. Whilst re-rigging the smaller one on my rest days a few weeks ago, I snapped the main mast and now another project to do on a cloudy evening/night. Also, I am into model railways and short-wave radio listening.
  13. Mine has been shipped too and on its way. I am too and see how it compares against my TeleVue Nagler zoom. It is going to be an interesting and fun one.
  14. It maybe the eyepiece. The SkyWatcher 10mm is renowned for not being that good/great and may be assembled at the same factory/plant. Most ‘cheaper’ scope brands do this to keep costs down. I would not invest in filters at the present time until you have got used to the ‘scope. That said, a variable polarising filter may help.
  15. Hi @BizzleNizzle and welcome to SGL.
  16. Hi @douglaslogan2 and welcome to SGL.
  17. I guess that was not from one of the MV Napoli’s containers, when she ran aground off the coast at Salcombe [South Devon] several years ago. 🤣
  18. The last paragraph is very touching. Before I had my first ever telescope, I used to look forward to visiting my grandparents on my late-mother’s side at the weekend or school holidays. My late-grandfather had a pair of opera glasses. Though they were not perfect for astronomy, they ignited my interest in this hobby and could see a little bit more than with the naked eye. When I look through my brass eyepiece and WW1 sighting telescope, I sometimes think what was the previous user/owner viewing, whether it be friend or foe.
  19. Click on you avatar/profile picture or name... go to Account settings then go to Overview then Signature is in that menu. You may find it easier to do it on the desktop/laptop version of SGL than on a phone/tablet.
  20. Several years ago. I was looking for another ‘scope to compliment my TeleVue Ranger. Only 500 units were made. I got a ‘de-forked’ Meade ETX105 instead.
  21. That’s a nice little ‘scope. I would like one of these... the William Optics/Ferrari ‘Zenithstar’... and in red! I know what you’re all thinking... “Keep on dreaming!”
  22. Agreed! All About Space should be consigned to the nearest recycling centre. Looking for astronomy magazines in branches of WHS too. I have not seen any.
  23. Even when viewing the planets or the Sun, the Moon gets in the way and ‘photo-bombs’. Damn annoying! 😉
  24. Nice! If you get a UHC filter it will tease a little more detail. I have the Explore Scientific one... (and because I like the pretty box it comes in).
