  1. Hi. I don't think it would work .. the overexposed picture has the white light spread out covering the detail of the moon. I think it might be possible if it was done in HDR, but honestly I would have to experiment to try it.
  2. Getting ready to go on my first trip with my new QHY 163M.  I know the spacing is still off, but I'm still hopeful.  I also get to discover how my 130PDS will hold up to some off roading as well.  Wadi Rum Jordan, here I come.

Love Wadi Rum - hope the weather gods are kind and the stars align for you.

I love my QHY163m - I think I just about have the spacing right now ;)

  3. half way through the year and still getting it wrong
  4. Last night's moon with my QHY 163M and 130 PDS
  5. Thanks Dave. It truly is a learning curve! Frustrating at times, but worth it. (well so far at least) Fakhri
  6. Taken last November, but got lost while I was learning how to process. This is a single 10 sec image @ISO 3200.
  7. Looks like I was a bit to specific in my search. Many thanks for the link. Fakhri
  8. Thank you. Well I hope I did everything correctly. But I will recheck everything before I start. I did try a search, but I did not get anything results. Again I will recheck, no harm in that. Thanks again
  9. Hi, While imaging with my Skywatcher 130 PDS I have discovered that I have some tilt in the focuser. I can see this while trying to collimate, I seem to get a shift when I change the focus. I believe that I can correct this by taking apart the focuser. Does anyone have any experience with taking apart the focuser? and how to correct the tilt? Thank you for your time and feedback. Fakhri PS I hope I posted this in the right place.
  10. I really like the result I got from last night's moon. This is 50 images done in RegiStax 6 with my QHY 163M. Seeing conditions were not that great.
  11. Will try to get one tonight (unless by some miricle, everything works out tonight, I just made a change to the spacing).
  12. Will have to add that to the checklist. But these donuts appear even when the stars are in focus, that's the thing. (not with the DSLR, but with the 163M)
  13. The DSLR. Still having spacing issues with the QHY163M. Everything measures out, but I still get the really weird donuts. I should probably get some pictures of them. Even with the image more or less in focus, nice sharp pinpoint stars I still get the donuts, they only change in focus. Also the LRGB filters haven't arrived yet. Not to mention still trying go get a replacement for my Ha filter!
  14. I actually like yours, I haven't had the heart to try for it yet though. Baader modified means that I have removed the IR filter in the camera, and replaced it with a Baader filter that makes it more sensitive to Ha. As much as I love this scope, having to travel on a dirt road to get to a dark site is not fun. Especially with all the shaking!
  15. Hi, Its not much, I was only able to capture an hour and 17 minutes worth of data. No filters since my Ha decided to commit suicide. Not too bad (I think )
  16. To my utter surprise, and joy, I found out that FLO now deliver to Jordan.
    Thank you FLO. :D:D

Not only that, but I made the order late Sunday night and it was picked up by the shipping company Monday afternoon! That is what I call good service. :)

  17. Am sure I tried, but will try again as soon as the clouds give us a break. How different would the exposure time be compared to PHD? In PHD I can't even go to exposures that are longer than 1 sec, everything gets washed out. But like I said before, its probably my fault. Thanks, Fakhri
  18. Hi, I tried to use it last night, but ran into some problems. I'm using a QHY5II Mono + 9x50 Finderguider, for some reason I can never get more than 2 or 3 stars. Any suggested setting to work with? I did check that the stars are in focus, and in PHD I can count at least 20. I'm assuming its my fault since it works for people, so what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance. Fakhri
  19. Am very interested in this. Actually very glad I found it, I was considering getting the polemaster, but now I have a good alternative. If only the weather would cooperate and give me a clear night! Am looking forward to trying it out regards Fakhri
  20. Oh cool, will check it out in the morning. Thanks .
  21. Thanks. It is a DSLR, but I'm stacking directly from the raw images. Is there another way to do it?
  22. Hi all, Tonight was the first time I had the scope on a properly functioning mount. I was only able to get 10 X 360s Ha exposures before I got too cold. I guess I need to work a bit on my focus, but for some reason I'm happy with it. PS First time I shoot Ha Fakhri
