  1. Well done! I got myself an Ha filter a couple of years so tend to use that when the moon is bright...
  2. I managed to add the Ha with lighten blend mode at 70%. Didn't use any luminence and this is what I came up with. Slightly more restrained but not sure if I like it any more! 😂 At least I would... but I cant add any more images.... Moderator help!!!!!!!
  3. Cheers, I followed s process where you replace the red channel with a blend of Ha and the red channel. Then I added the HA as luminence. I think I've tried your suggestion in the past but as the Ha is slightly differently orientated the the rgb, you then have to crop it and it wouldn't recombine. I'll see if I can find a work round.
  4. This the combined HA and RGB images. I must say, adding some Ha makes for a much nicer image than RGB alone. 35 X 5 min one shot RGB, 33 X 8 min Ha, Total 444 mins. Iso 800, DSS and PS. 100D and Star 71. Would only let me upload 4mb this time!
  5. This is two nights subs. 34 X 8min. iso 800, DSS, PS. Captured with a 100D DSLR and Star 71. For some reason, It will only let met post 12.83 mb! so here is the JPEG...
  6. It's 18 months since I did this... Just about relearning what I forgot 😆. Something interesting and creative to do whilst isolating/distancing 😊.
  7. I added some Ha to and earlier RGB tulip last night. 13 x 10 min, iso 800 added to the existing RGB, giving a total of 4.5 hours total exposures. Star 71 and Canon 100D, DSS and PS wouldn't let me upload png, so this is the JPEG
  8. I had another go, laid off the stretching a bit and got a better result!
  9. I have a very old copy of Pixinsight LE that has a DBE function. What I am doing more and more though is duplicating the image. Then applying enough gaussian blur on the duplicate to get rid of the stars and galaxies. Then go back to the original, go 'apply image', select the copy and 'subtract' the copy from the original. It usually does a good job' especially with galaxies and clusters.
  10. Here is my try using PS... Thanks for posting the stacks, it's good to practice. I only use DSLRs so rarely process like this. In brief this is what I did:- 1. Combined the rgb into one one image and stretched and boosted colours then smoothed the image. 2. Resized the luminence, then stretched using curves and sharpened the bright areas. 3. Added the luminence as a layer, changed blend mode to luminosity. Increase curves to upper layer. Reduced curves on rgb layer. 4. Flattened the image, final colour boost and adjust background. Get rid of gradients and hot pixels. Cheers...
  11. Hi... I'm unfamiliar with fit file format. Is one of the files a stacked file? If so, which one? I'd like to have a go processing on PS. I usually process tif files from DSS. If you could provide a stacked tif file, that would be great! Tim.
  12. Found the problem... my CPU processor is too old for starnet++, a bit like me...
  13. That is lovely... this should be called the humpback bridge nebula!
  14. From a few nights ago. Overprocessed probably. 25 X 5 min, iso 800, Star 71, 550D, DSS and PS...
  15. Have a look at the subs as well... if you some filament detail on the individual exposures, then you know it is the stacking causing the problems.
  16. Strange! I'm not sure why you wanted such a long exposure, 9 X 5 min exposures would make more sense. Clutching at straws, but was it dewey? Tim.
  17. This was from a couple of nights ago... I left the UHC filter on which rather messed up the star colour, but it's not too bad. 29 X 210 sec subs, iso 800, DSS and PS... The cluster is 1500 light years away with a radius of about 11.5 light years...
  18. Thanks for that... Unfortunately, the result is the same message i.e. ' The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)'. Anyone got any other ideas? I have installed it correctly, followed the instructions for two ways of launching (Dropping file onto app and editing batch file) but still get the same message. Cheers, Tim.
  19. Hi all, I have downloaded and unzipped Starnet++ to my windows 10 PC. When I try to open it, either with my own images or the sample image included, I get the message ' The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)'. I have tried disabling the anti virus but it makes no difference... Graphics drivers are up to date. Anyone have any suggestions that might help? Cheers, Tim.
  20. A corona free greeting to you all... This is the first from me for nearly two years. Just had three nights remembering and relearning all I had forgot and this is about the best effort to date despite my neighbours garden light being on all night! Star 71 and 550D, Uhc filter... 28 x 6min, dithered, flats and bis. Processed with DSS and PS.
  21. Here are a few from me. The main changes last year are that I got a Star 71, a great scope that is so easy to use, and I also got a Ha filter and started experimenting with that.
  22. Sounds like the NSPCC (national society for the protection and care of cameras) need to pay you a visit!
