  1. Do I need to connect my router to my extender with a cable or will it work wirelessly? Please help.
  2. I have ZWO cameras that I use for solar imaging and the Pointgrey Grasshopper 174 but there is a program that I need the download to get the camera working but for the life of meI can’t remember the name of it, something like spinnaker, does anyone know which software I need?
  3. Yes Stellarium works with the mount but only if I use the rs232 cable and adapter. I always check which com port and put that into the configuration in Stellarium . I plug the cable directly into the hc port on the mount whereas the other cable fits into the bottom of the hc, it seems that when the hc is not used, nothing works, I also have Cartes du Ciel on my laptop (Dell 15000) the reticule moves on the screen but the mount does not move. Stranger than fiction.
  4. Hi Andy, unless I plug in the cable First there is no port identified. I have taken a couple more images, you can tell I am not a computer expert or anything near, I hit the update latest drivers in the relevant window just to make sure.thanks for your help..
  5. Hi Andy just finished taking images Etc. When I plug in my cable it is not shown, I did step by step as you suggested and below are two images, one of the cable and the other is after double clicking on ‘ports’ in device manager. Any ideas?
  6. Hi Andy, my operating system is windows 10 and my laptop is a Dell 1500. I plug the cable directly into the hc port on the mount with the other end into my laptop. I have tried the cable ( RS232) that fits into the bottom of the hc which connects into an adapter that fits into a USB port and it works fine but with the Hitech Astro cable nothing. I have downloaded several drivers. It has never worked since the day I got it, I think it must be drivers. I check which com port then put that into Stellarium. Could it be some setting I need to do or is it a driver thing?
  7. I have an AVX mount and a Hitech Astro cable to enable me to control my mount from the laptop using Stellarium, could someone please tell me which driver I need. Thank you in advance. Cheers
  8. Hi, I tried again today with a camera ( asi zwo 120 mm) attached but the program did not recognise I had the camera turned on, it worked fine in Sharpcap, so I have uninstalled JAVA and FireCapture. Tried again to download from the FireCapture site but all I got was a page of files but no FireCapture.exe.
  9. I have again been trying to download the program and I think I have achived it but I had to download Java first. As I did not have a camera attachedthe scree I got was White and not the Red screen as can be seen in the various videos, maybe tomorrow I will attach a camera and see what I get. Didn’t do it today as Ihave been recording through Sharpcap and my head is about to explode, what with recording videos then trying to download FireCapture, I don’t think I can take anymore today, I’ll try tomorrow. Thanks for your help everyone.
  10. Davy thanks but as I said I am posting this on my iPad as I have no other way of receiving email. Cornelious, no that is not the page I get.
  11. Hi Cornelius, I am trying to download onto my Dell 1500 laptop. Tomorrow I will try to get a screen grab but don’t hold your breath.
  12. Right I have been trying for a few hours today with no luck,I opened the firecapture page, clicked on download, added together to two numbers and clicked download, that just opened a page with loads of folders and files but no firecapture.exe. I highlighted everything on that page to extract it all, nothing. Is this a ploy to start charging for the program??? As I said not much hair left.
  13. Hi, I have been on that very page a few times but all I get downloaded is a page with various filesfolders on and none of them is firecapture.exe. I’ll keep trying but I’m running out of hair.
  14. Hi, I have tried most of your suggestions even turned my firewall off but still no luck. Thanks for offering to send a zipped file but that would be no use as I am on my iPad, I cannot figure out how to configure my laptop to receive and send emails. Downloading firecapture is my current priority though.
  15. Hi I have been trying to download firecapture for a few days now but no luck. When I press the download button all I get are a long list of things such as various cameras but not the software that allows me to start to image and adjust various settings. Anyone help please. My laptop is a Dell 1500 and about one year old.
  16. Hello everyone, due to having a street light about 24’ away from where I set up ( there is nowhere else in the garden) I have to use various filters. I have just purchased a Williams Optics Space Cat and was wondering if I add a filter draw do I need anything else to enable me to achieve focus. Thanks for any advice.
  17. Hi, I have found Astrometry.net. My issue now is what do Ineed to click on, there seems to be loads !!! Dummy or not, me
  18. Hi all thanks for your replies, plenty for me to read and do. I am using my Canon 800d camera and not a Telescope, the lens on the camera is a Canon erf 135 mm and I have put in details for that, after doing plenty of searches on the internet I think I have the correct details, I will double check. When I open apt it recognises my camera and gives details on the bottom left of the screen. I have deleted APT and ASPS and started again but as yet no luck, I must be doing something wrong. As I said I cannot find Astrometry anywhere on the net so I cannot download it, that is why I ask if I should download PS2.
  19. Hi I have followed the instructions given in the link Demon Barber gave but things are different as when I download ASPS from the APT link, it does not load Astrometry Library, so I tried to find it on the web but it is nowhere to be found. Feels like I’m going around in circles with this. The video is very good although a year old. Should I Download PS2 as well as asps?
  20. Hi not sure if this is the right place or not !! I posted in another area but as that is quite old I may not get any answers. My problem is when I use apt to plate solve I get a message that apt could not find the ASPS and to set it in the settings in Pointcraft, so I deleted the program but still got the error message. I have watched many videos on this subject but they all start in the middle. What I would appreciate is a video that shows what software to download Etc. Anyone help please.
  21. Hi I have just come across this topic and it is very relevant to me. I have installed APT and ASPS but when I hit ‘blind’ to solve the pic I have taken I get a message saying it cannot find asps please use the settings in pointcraft to locate the file, so I did that, a few times, but all to no avail. I must be doing something wrong but what. I have watched many videos on YouTube but they all start in the middle. I need to see things right from the start, such as downloading asps saving it into a location Etc. Anyone help please.
  22. Hello Steve, thanks again for your help. I have the cables for the EC bought them when I purchased everything else. I have swapped the cables around so they should be in the right place. The problem I have with pll is that I don’t think they always understand what I say, they do a pretty good job of translating though. Just waiting for my new cable to arrive then on a very rare clear night I will try things.
  23. Hi Steve I have been having problems with my iPad in that nothing will open but gladly at the moment it seems to play nicely. Thanks for the various pdf’s I will work my way through them. I have just bought a new cable to power my Celestron AVX mount but I may have the cables on the Eagle Core wrong. I have the cable with the cigarette connector going into the connector next to the Ariel and the other end into the power port on the mount. It clearly states in the user guide that that connector is an out, where should I connect that cable? Is there a diagram that shows what cable goes where. Although everything lights up when powered connecting the cables where I have them I am not sure everything is in the right place. PPL said they were testing mount control using a Celestron AVX and the atenuc 232 a and when complete they would contact me, that was a few days ago but nothing yet. Although I have told them my mount is a Celestron AVX with a nexstar handcontroller the only instructions I can find relating to hc settings relate to a Synscan hc, any thoughts on that?. They need to revisit the manual and make it more understandable as well as being up to date otherwise they will lose sales. People like me will be going round in circles and getting more and more frustrated as well as looking at other things that may well be easier to use.
  24. Hi Steve, I use my Samsung Tablet A when connecting to the Eagle Core not the laptop. The video I watched from Primaluce said to attach the 232 cable to the bottom of the handcontroller and after connecting the adapter to the cable, plug the other end into a USB port on the Eagle Core. Then connect to the Cores internet, open SkySafari plus and hit connect. This is supposed to allow control of the mount, not in my case, all I get in a message saying connection failed. I have tried both attaching the cable to the hc and also directly into the hc port on the mount, neither works. I have contacted ppl times but either I am asking the question wrong or something, but no definitive answer yet. I’ll try again with ppl and ask for an idiots guide to this.
  25. Hi I contacted Primaluce and they suggested getting a Autenuc232a adapter which Inow have but guess what it still will not connect. I went through settings on the handcontroller even set the mode to North ( there are only two options in this setting North or South) I have spent in excess of £1000 British pounds on this and am really fed up with some things not working as they should.
