  1. No streetlights anywhere near me fortunately, and long may it continue.
  2. If you already have the mini PC, and it's running your software without a hitch, then I'd go with the Pegasus to avoid messing things up. As has been said, the ASIair will lock you into the ZWO system, which I would seriously avoid. There is also a lot to be said for multiple power supplies, on my big rig I have 3, for the mount, the camera and for the electrically noisy accessories.
  3. I had another go last night to see if I could improve on the 23 I saw on Saturday but no luck. I do know (Or at least suspect) that my eyes aren't as good at picking up faint stars as they are with extended sources.
  4. .... Make sure your camera hasn't rotated without your knowledge. So that's three hours of data for the bin.
  5. Buy and READ This Book twice before spending ANY money on kit.
  6. Just sit down in front of the computer in a nice warm room, connect to the obsy by RDP, hit GO and watch the subs roll in. When it's finished the 'scope will park itself, close the roof and shut down.
  7. Be careful of TeamViewer, plenty of posts here from people who've had TV think they're commercial from the amount of traffic.
  8. This is it installed on the back of my 130 triplet with a SX filter wheel.
  9. Read the sspec carefully. Does it say anything like "Barebones"? if it does then that's what you get, no OS, RAM , or HD. If it is complete then what OS is installed? You need Win 10 Pro to be able to use RDP to connect remotely. Also, although you don't need huge computing power I would sau i3 is minimum spec I have two on my remote imaging rigs, and they both save to my office NAS via wired ethernet.
  10. My QHY 268 turned up today from Astrograph, but will be a few days before I have it up and running. Oh, and I'll have to wait for the inevitable clouds to go away. I found fitting the M54 threaded ring to be no problem, as a set of M3 8mm csk machine screws are provided in a little bag. The power connection looks to be the standard 2.1mm centre positive socket, rather than the annoying 2.5mm that some contrary manufacturers insist on using.
  11. Sounds a bit better than me. Maybe I'll get another chance, but the forecast isn't good.
  12. Good job I did the count when I did as it's clouded over now. ASA Sequence picked up the unsafe conditions signal from the Cloudwatcher and shut down, parking the 'scope, warming up the camera and closing the obsy roof.
  13. Maybe I was being pessimistic as I have counted 23 stars after proper dark adaptation. This is with my dodgy eyes, I have posterior vitreous detachment in my left eye, which is the dominant one. I won't report until I have done several nights.
  14. The sky's clear but not as transparent as it was last night.
  15. OK, the next clear night within the window I'll do a count. Will need to turn my smart lights off and take a recliner out so I can dark adapt for maybe 1/2 hour.
  16. I've done it the last two years, but I think I may have been the only person from my location to take part, which is why I now have my doubts about the validity of my results. It's pretty rural here but we do catch the LP from the nearest towns,
  17. I would take part, and there may be the odd clear slot in the week, but I have my doubts about my intrinsic NELM for point sources, as the faintest stars I can see are not as faint as i would expect from my ability to see extended sources like the MW.
  18. i suspect it might be the router's firewall blocking the content.
  19. Thank you Sayed. Having my dinner ATM, will have a proper look when I've finished.
  20. Well, I'm sure it's a brilliant graph, but as I'm not seeing anything I can't be asked to bother any further. Proof, pudding, eating.
  21. I'm using Chrome. Could be a browser issue?
  22. CO has my SQI as 21.66, so the dark end of Bortle 4, very nearly Bortle 3.
