Anyone successfully used a solar wedge with a Bressner 150L bit worried about the pretzel lenses behind the focuser Overheating. So not prepared to try yet..

Sorry Sunshine that's my favourite scope you would have to pry it from my dieing hands.

Well tried out my new Lacerta wedge yesterday using my equinox 120 .Must admit a little apprehensive so counter Intuitive To point an open objective directly at the sun.But of course every thing was fine.Considering the constant passing cloud and next doors buddleia tree wafting in and out of view I was quite happy with the results. I did use a 2inch polarizing filter to bring down the brightness There was plenty of focus travel on the 120 and I was surprised just how cool the wedge remained although it was only a short session. Managed one picture.

Not the postman but DPD a Lacerta solar wedge another present from my lovely wife. Unfortunately having a thunder storm here at present so don't know when I will get to try it out.

Thanks Andy ES and cosmic Geoff for your support

I think rusted you should let the matter drop. You obviously have a strong opinion on the matter Which I do not share so let's leave it at that, and not take up forum time bickering.

NO it is just a hobby and fun .I am NOT a professional if you are going to be that critical of people's posts Then you are going to put a lot of people who are trying there best off posting in the future so in my opinion I don't care for your opinion

The colour is because I was using a old colour camera not my usual 178mm . The orientation is because the camera was upside down. Personally don't think it matters

A Baader K Line filter courtesy of Nigella and a pack of Baader filter film from FLO. Unfortunately had to order a second pack as i spoilt making the first filter had a stroke last November and still recovering with limited movement. The wife made the second one and did a good job. She also purchased from FLO an earl y birthday present for me a Skywatcher Evolux 82ED. I am such a lucky boy ( well quite an old man really )
