      Your 5" should be suffice and around 120x should be sufficient to reveal interesting detail. Try another night and hopefully one with better seeing conditions.

      Seeing conditions were awful last night (atleast where I am). We have the same scope and I've been able to count cloud bands, colours, moons, all sorts on jupiter. Just keep at it and it will start paying off!
