    BBC says clear until midnight and then cloudy. Clear Outside says cloudy until midnight then clear. Combine the two .....a clear night!

    Planning to try some 'indoor observing'. Just got a MacBook Pro and would like to try controlling the mount whilst also using a lodestar camera and lodestar live software. Progress so far: tried a connection to the mount and ordered camera.

      upgrade the RAM at some point in its lifetime, cheap and very effective. SSD's are just incredible also - 3second boot up time.

    Received my copy the Deep Sky Companions - The Messier Objects (new 2nd edition) . I plan to revisit as many as poss of the M's with the Dob

      Two great books there Kerry, The Messier Objects is O'Meara's best I think.

      Sorry, my punctuation is not very clear: it is the Messier volume in the DS Companions series. I have some of the others but have been waiting for this to be reprinted. I really like O'Meara's books.
