      tingting44

yeah what a night!! i bagged venus for the 1st time, done my longest sub at 3 mins, saw a shooting star, done some lush HDR sunrise and fog pics, couldnt find where i parked the car!!! wondering around in thick forest trees, ankle high in mud for at least half hour, i can honestly say i was crapping myself, it didnt help where i was bymyself! i got so lost i didnt even know the rough direction back :( but had an amazing night none the less

    3. jnc71106

      jnc71106

some might suggest its a bit excessive when you have GOTO ;)

set yourself an afternoon aside for the collimation print this guide http://www.astro-baby.com/collimation/astro babys collimation guide.htm read it then read it again and slowly take your time

    4. tingting44

      tingting44

yeah it will be so handy simply for alignment when i need to find the stars with the finder/telrad, as when its a dark sky its so hard to make out the star you want through the stock finder, lol so this should just make my life of aligning easier :)

thanks read through AB guide a few times now buddy :( lol

  11. just looked out in to my garden and somone has chopped off the lamp post!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!! :D :D :D http://www.flickr.com/photos/tingting44/11929889464/

nice one Jake! :) was the night overall a good one?.... how did Stu get on with his sexy CCD lol :)

    3. jnc71106

      jnc71106

it was clear and stayed clear while we were there, although the moon and the light skies meant it wasn't perfect. We went down to get try out Stu's new ccd, i didn't take any of my kit with me

    4. tingting44

      tingting44

sounds a nice night, ah yes the moon would have still been a problem for Stu as he is not imaging in NB is he?

  17. looks like the SW 130-pds will be going........onwards and upwards............. :D :D :D

    1. JB80

      JB80

Had a crack last night, not a great effort but I did catch it. I think the moon was still playing a part. Sunday is probably a better night for it.

      ronin

Is this for imaging, transport, size, weight, clubbing moles, the hell of it?

    3. tingting44

      tingting44

The choice is purely for imaging

  23. mhhhhh...i wonder if there is a gap in the market for making and selling barn door mounts.....

    2. tingting44

      tingting44

yeah but im thinking of making them and selling them for say £20 a pop, no way on hell i could afford the astro track for ages, im sure a lot of people are in the same boat as me, sure a £20 barn door will not be no where near as accurate as the astro track but no where near the high price either/....

    3. tingting44

      tingting44

      just a thought tho really....

    4. Adamar98

      Adamar98

It would be a great way for people to try AP without breaking the bank. I started out using a barn door tracker. Got me hooked!

  24. mhhhhhh....really should put the effort in to do a better Aviator pic.....
