  1. Thanks Tom.If one of us ever finds out we will share the trick !! Trevor
  2. I usually start off a session getting prime focus images to cover the whole disc while the scope cools down before cranking up the magnification. Struggled a bit with the blue sky. I didn't want to overexpose the bright limb but the result has weakened the terminator detail a bit. Only so much you can do in processing ! Pleased overall with the detail though. SW ED152 and imaging source dmk 21.
  3. Both images taken through an ED100. One on April 25th, one last night. Just shows how quick things are changing. Hopefully one more before we loose Venus in the sun .
  4. Had to find a small gap between trees to shoot this tonight. Mix of four images taken at Prime Focus on an ED72. I used an imaging source camera manually tracked on a Skytee mount
  5. Brilliant image. Well done. The 120 is often underrated as a lunar imaging scope.
  6. Thanks Richard. I switched the lens to manual focus and used Venus in live view .
  7. Thanks Pete. I think its probably the sharpest I've achieved so far. Always a difficult subject
  8. Thanks Mike and Ant. It was taken at prime focus using an imaging source camera. It’s a mix of six different shots joined in imerge
  9. Taken tonight through an ED100 with x2 barlow
  10. Nice crescent tonight and just enough time before disappearing behind a tree. ED100 at Prime Focus
  11. Nothing too special but worth a shot with a standard 35 - 55 canon kit lens. I know some of the stars are elongated at the edge but its not bad considering. You can clearly see M51 and 101 on the original. Keeps me amused in these very strange times ! 20 x 150 sec exposures
  12. Wider field than previous shot using a x2 barlow on an ED120. I always like seeing the shadows cast across the terminator.
  13. Still wading through images from a couple of nights back. Liked the shadow detail in this one
  14. Thanks Wouter. I'm a bit of a refractor nut and have always been pleased with the 120. Trevor
  15. Taken a couple of nights back during good seeing through an ED120. Maybe an indication of clouds but maybe wishful thinking. All good fun anyway !
  16. Some good seeing a couple of nights back . Finally got around to processing the images. Taken through an ED120. One image with a x2 barlow and the other with a x3 barlow.
  17. Thanks James. Less hope it does. Some good nights lately.
  18. Can't resist this one every year. Taken through an ed120 with an Altair 183M. 30 x 3 mins lights and 6 x3 min darks
  19. Clear nights lately but naff seeing here. Always like this area. Still possible to get a reasonable image as long as you keep the magnification down. More detail next month perhaps if the jetstream moves away ? Trevor
  20. The seeing has been bad several nights lately . I always think its like fishing. You never know what you will get until you see the first video files. Nice image though. I always like this area.
