Bias frame are like dark frames ie with lens cap on but the exposure is set at the fastest exposure ( in case of my dslr 1/4000 sec.) where as dark are the same exposure length as lights.

I've gone back out to scope, yes the baud is 9600 stellarium -latest. This time I laptop connected to scope started apt and connected to scope. with stellarium I right clicked and run as administrator started it up then nclicked on scope connect. this time both APT and stellarium are now connected. Now when I'm on stellarium I sellect a star say Arcturus (n.w.) and select centre on the mount move on both axis to centre on the star no problems there. When I do the same with APT then select goto the mount slews to arcturus and stellarium does show the mount centred on the star.. so looks like all sorted now thanks for the help.

Ok just been out to the scope connected laptop to scope then started APT (admin mode) click on scope connect, scope connected no problem so far. Then I started up stellarium. When I went to connect stellarium to mount EQMOD come up with com port error. looks like I'm able to connect either APT or stellarium to mount but not both.

I thought about the cable connections all ok but then I did state that I got stellarium connected.

How do I go about doing that?

Last session that I had (3 nights ago) I went outside got my laptop powered up and usb connected, powered up the mount. Then started stellarium got that connected to the mount via ascom no problem, then I started up APT then I connected my camera, focuser and the filterwheel all 3 connected ok. When I went to connect APT to the mount I get an audible msg. saying mount disconnect yet the mount was not connected to APT in the first place. I tried the HEQ5/6, porth and the generic options but no luck. Any ideas on what I could do.

I've got my scope set up in my back garden here on the west (dark side) of the Malvern hills. I got last least 3 owls that live near by and they do make some noise that I like listening to.

O.S maps will tell you the deference between grid,true and magnetic north. I always use both compass and map together that'll get my set up close enough to use the polemaster software when it gets dark enough.

Friday night I went out got every thing powered up laptop connected to my setup, got cdc and apt started and connected. When I selected m27 on apt clicked on goto the r.a. moved but dec did not which meant the scope still pointed north. I restarted everything tried the same with cdc select m27 again the same only the r.a. moved. At first I thought it was mount related but after another restart I started eqmod got my gamepad control and checked both axis and both r.a. and dec moved which lead me to think it's software related. Any help/ ideas on what I can do to sort this out.

Can that handle deferent file sizes as my ha file size is 970 x 730 and the rgb files are 1940 x 1460?

Sunday night I had chance to a imaging run so I got my 100 best astrophotography targets book out for idea and went for the ngc 7000 north american nebula. got apt up and running connected to my equipment, did the imaging run and got the files saved to my laptop. All I need to do now is stack them. What software do people use?
