I always get the RA and Dec motors mixed up even after 10 years I have a R and L on my wellies to remind me of my feet 😀

The motor is the synta one the picture is without the cover. Yes of course but if I had thought on I should really have taken a few pictures.

Sorry Dave I didn't do one I've just fitted two ceiling fan lights, the set turned up and just wanted try it checked the bolt first for the right thread got the oil out and tapped the hole. Never even entered my head to video it I should of took pictures but I didn't do that either 😥

Update received the set today took RA motor off used the 6mm 1.0 a bit of oil backwards and forwards through the hole bolt goes in now nice and tight. Definitely no movement on the RA drive now that shouldn't be.

Many might be wondering why have I got this when I haven't even got a Reflector. Well I am seriously thinking of buying a Celestron Starsense Dob 10" maybe a 12" if they release them soon. Thanks to @JemC (James) I could not let this go for the price.

Getting back in the saddle, with a Moonlit 8” f8
wookie1965 replied to Stu's topic in The Astro Lounge
Well Stu finding all that stuff without a finder is incredible I'm pretty sure I could not do that. That moonlight looks great on that scope. Brilliant read thank you for posting. -
I did all heavy lifting low paid jobs, flagging, fencing delivering various garden aggregate. This is how I did my back in 3 popped discs. was off sick but decided put myself through college went and did electrical installation 3 yrs passed everything, started working for a firm only there 6 months woke up couldn't see out my left eye, went a specialist hospital (St. Pauls eye hospital) I was told it was either a tumour or idiopathic intracranial hypotension. Luckily it was not a tumour although having 17 lumber punctures up to now to drain cervical spinal fluid is no fun but if I dont have them I can go blind. Needless to say I have no top end equipment but what I do have I get the best out of it and have seen many objects mostly double and multiple stars, you never know I may win the lottery and buy my dream set up. I do hope your health is getting better I too suffer with depression being in pain 24hrs a day so I know what it is like. Best wishes Paul
