  1. It's a shame there aren't more "webcam" style cameras on it so we can see what is going on. I am sure they considered it but I think JWST is complex enough without adding extra none-essential stuff like that on board.
  2. Glad the critical first burn worked. That was crucial or else it wouldn't have made L2 - I read about that a few weeks ago.
  3. So far so good. Proper separation will be key 😱
  4. Everyone in the family watching it...! I've got to take the turkey out, doh....
  5. The number of software systems running at the moment in mission control, on JWST itself and in the Ariane must be incredible.
  6. 41 minutes and counting and the veg needs to go on.....🙈
  7. No matter what guys, less than four hours to go….. gosh, I’m nervous enough, never mind the people who have devoted their lives to this telescope.
  8. Me too. So scary. It all comes down to this!
  9. I've delayed family members coming over for 30 mins so I can watch it. And they've been very supportive.
  10. Ooooh dear. All of my ZWO cams - and I have four of them - have been top notch. I have 2 x 120MC, 1 x 224MC, 1 ASI174MM. Your mileage may vary I suppose. Just like any other purchase.
  11. Each year seems even worse than the already bad previous one. I am on the verge of divesting myself of all my DSO imaging gear since it is hopeless in the UK and using DSLR lenses for DSO widefield that can double up for terrestrial photography. Will focus on The Moon, Sun and planets with my telescopes.
  12. It is on the pad now. I shall watch the launch whilst making Xmas dinner so watch out for the burnt roast potatoes 🥔🤣
  13. Yeah, why is that????? I have often wondered and used to think it was symmetrical about the solstice but it isn't.
  14. Yes, I feel the same. Indeed, I'm not buying any more astronomy equipment. My last purchase was a Lunt60/B1200 in June and I have used that a heck of a lot more than I have my night time gear. I'd love to create a FSQ85 and a TEC140 dual rig with two of each scope but it is a complete waste of money in the UK.
  15. Definitely. After all this time we can wait for a few more days. I was all ready to rock for Friday though and planned around watching the live launch. It'll be a bit more tricky watching it preparing the turkey on Saturday if it launches then 🙈
  16. What a brilliant piece of work! Well done
  17. Isn't it just! I hope NASA will pull the plug on the launch if there is any doubt and that they do not feel compelled to launch it for "not-another-delay" embarrassment avoidance motives. After all this time, a few more weeks is not a big deal.
  18. Yes, we should be able to image it, weather permitting. If anyone does, please share images here guys!
  19. Three days and it's still a go for launch at midday on Friday 😱 The Launch - Webb/NASA
  20. It's been solid cloud without a trace of blue for six days now.
  21. Hello folks, This is from Wednesday night. I've only just got round to processing it, I've been so busy at work. With my TEC140 and ASI174M with RGB filters. I had to do an upper and a lower file for each filter and then combine them. Hope you like it.
  22. We all feel like that after electrical work mate 🤣
  23. A lovely picture! Well done. Yes, as Olly says, even high-end refractors can bloat the blue channel (including the luminance). Even my TEC and FSQ do a bit.
