5/7/14 White light full disc and ARs

Another good morning for it, I tumbled out of bed around 10 and set up not long after. It was nearly 30°c in the shade already by that time so I was hoping things would be alright.

Again the shots were quite impressive, apart from 1 sub with a mysterious round blob on it I decided to load the lot(90 or so) into reg and let the software cut it to around 60 subs to stack.

With the wind gone I cracked out the ASI120 for some close ups with no barlow and around 3-5000 frames for each avi,  they have came out great too so that's my lot for today I think. Job done. :D

One question I have is more about presentation of the close ups, do people think they would be better labelled or with a border? Would you prefer to see it listed as AR2109 or AR12109

Any ideas or tips? I'm all ears. :)

Nice set sir ...

I'm totally against dropping the first digit of the AR designation , if only to save confusion later on down the road , after all ARs 12109 and 2109 must be completely different regions ...

Very nice, superb shots.

I actually had a quick go this morning, using the 32mm eyepiece with 1000d coupled up but not the best method and binned all the shots, will stick to prime focus in future

Jarrod, what scope are you using for Solar, the 150pl or the 90 celestron? just curious

Thanks Steve and Jules. :)

I think I agree with you Steve about using the full designation, I think it's just laziness on my part for not doing so. Mind you plenty of agencies don't either.

Jules, I am using the 150PL with a full aperture filter on the end. I did try the 90mm once but it was a comedy of errors on my behalf. I should of really spent more time preparing. :D

Thanks Pete and Johan.

I have added some colour to the closeups and I think they look better. Since I have started to use levels for the colour this is the first time I really see the kick it can give to a picture.

Two lovely sets of images, Jarrod, I especially liked the close-ups and love the added colour

My vote is not bothered about whether you drop the first digit or not. It's sometimes handy if you name the AR's though I think I am not very good with labels on my efforts
