RikM
Here's my attempt at this nice planetary.Explorer 150P + Canon 1000D + LPR filterEQ3-2 unguided28x 2min @ ISO800 + 18x DarksDSS + PSe7First time hooked up to the lappy, so I used the EOS utilities liveview zoom to help with focusing and I found it quite a bit easier than looking on the screen on the back of the camera. It was also quite nice to be able to review the subs as they came in and bin the duffers straight away.Any comments welcome as always.

RikM
Thanks for the kind words. I am just happy that I can get some kind of images from really basic kit even from horribly light polluted skies. Here is a single 3min widefield straight off the camera to show you what I'm dealing with... ollypenrice
In view of the pic above, Rik, a double Bravo for your Owl. Using the laptop is good but do you have a Bahtinov mask? Focus is SO important and, though a stellar image may look good, a Bahtinov or FWHM reading can get it even better. Mind you, this does look crisp.Olly
RikM
Thanks Olly. I just loaded up APT today, so I will try out the FWHM focus aid next clear night.
