M1 - Crab Nebula with C9.25 and DSLR

After resolving all my troubles with bands on my images I was delighted to get a third clear night in a row and tried guided imaging for the first time with my Celestron 9.25" SCT using an ST80 as guide scope. This image is the result of 2h30m in 5 minute subs plus darks and flats. The scope was used at f10 (i.e. no focal reducer) and collected with that super program APT. With mirror-lock turned off there were no longer any issues.

I am overjoyed with the result as I originally considered this to be too faint and small for a DSLR. The DSLR is by the way a Canon 40D modded by astronomiser.

Thanks for looking. Any advice greatfully received.

That's a really nice rendition Dave,

...must feel good to nail this after all those troubles you encountered with your Rosette image!

Roll on the next clear night then!

Regards and clear skies....
