LMC
Oooo. My first post.I just picked this scope up last week.Well - technically it was delivered, but you get the drift....Its a Sharpstar AL106 (AT 106 / APM107) somewhat over-mounted on a T-Rex.I'm looking for a good photo-tyoe tripod to carry it ,as within the next ten days, if customs coopertates, "Rex" will have to carry a TOA130.From the 40 minutes of clear sky I've had with the scope, initial impressions are excellent.I plan a comparison (fight!!) with an SV105 6.2 later next week. LMC
Its a great scope at a VERY reasonable price. Highly recommended."Sharpstar" is a Japanese version of the Astro-Tech brand. It's got the same optics, and tube as the AT106LE, but with a different focuser.APM calls it the '107 Astrograph" (they would!), though you'd want a field-flattener for any wide field 'graphing.Regardless of brand, I definately recommend it.
