Surprise Rosette - dusty close up

Love it, Martin. I love the Rosette anyway and to see it like this is a treat. This palette really does differentiate the regions beautifully.

Perhaps the tracking was a mount balance/weight issue? I dont know if your on a dula rail like me , mine need careful balance in 3 axis to track either side..

I often run a side by side set up but not with this. I was using OAG. It wasn't a dec backlash problem as far as I can see although that might have been contributing to the problem. It's the first time I've encountered this particular problem. I was going to start a seperate thread but unfortunately I had the track log disabled. We'll see if it happens again

Well spotted Jordan! The stars after the meridian flip were fine but I didn't have enough data to just use these subs so threw in the earlier ones and haven't removed the trails. Hopefully I can get more data and ditch the dodgy subs

That is eye poppingly good Martin. The detail is superb especially with the Moon trying it's best to spoil it . Let's hope you can grab some more data to fix the stars

No, I'm not sure how well a focal reducer would work with this scope. It was F5.3 1000mm f/l
