Was looking on ebay for a manfrotto geared head , just in case i get the astrotrac ;-) , and found this, was only £72 , absolute monster , all movements geared, extremely stable , just about portable . really happy with it,

really happy with it. all movements very smooth and the large adjustment wheels make for easy precise movements. Just about fits in the boot of my car. Also the camers head part has two planes of movement , i assume for macro work.

Looks like it might make a good base for the astrotrac, and considering the cost of a manfrotto set up for that am pleased found this , and this isnt going to be swayed in the wind unless its a gale :-)

Can I ask what the maximum load is on it?

I'd guess it was originally for a Cinecamera!! ..max load could well be 20-30 kg
