where is Jupiter please?

Saw on one show last night that jupiter is closest for long time - clear tonight so want to have a look.....

Swinging from the East to the South this evening - you can't miss it, it is the brightest object in the sky, looking like a very bright star.

Look for the brightest 'star' roughly south, you can't miss it.

South east, fairly high in sky. Brightest object. With a pair of 10x50 binoculars you should be able to see it's moons.

just been back outside after leaving scope out earlier and now it's clouded over - argh!!!!

was so clear earlier!!!!!!!!!!!

this astronomy lark is quite frustrating.

Jupiter now (22:41) is almost directly south and high in the sky. I managed to look at it earlier this evening and I could make out it's largest moons, and even Uranus up to the left of it. I'm very new to this so I'm only using a pair of 10x40 binocs, but I'm amazed at what I can see so far.

Is it still visable ? I can see one single "star" East high in the sky (well duh )

Yes, Jupiter is still visible and will be intil Christmas Looking generaly between South and East its about a million times brighter than anything else (excpet an aeroplane.)

It's due south right now - brightest thing up there at 34 degrees (ish)
