Jupiter + Io transit and GRS

Hi everyone.

I tried to have a go at imaging the Io transit with the GRS on the 24th.

The skies were clear but the image was quite flickery, so there must have been a few clouds around causing some distortion.

Here is the best that i could get before the real clouds came over and Io was out of the transit and the GRS was out of view;

If those are taken using a manual Dob you have done a brilliant job! I know what you been about clear sky and unstable atmosphere..same happened to me that night.

First, well done on the images - especially if they were made with a dob. You must have steady hands.

But second, GAH! I watched that transit and completely failed to spot the GRS. I hadn't checked its position and didn't know to look for it. Bah, that's the last time I view Jupiter without looking at Skyandtelescope first.
