Jupiter, Io, GRS 17.9.10 127mm Mak

got few avi's last night when GRS and Oval BA where visible

as a bonus Moon Io reappeared also from behind Jupiter

i was suprised at how far Junior (Oval BA) and dark trailing behind seems to have moved since last few attempts

so i have including comparison pic and rotated crop animation showing this

craterlet @10fps 1000/1500frames

Great detail and presentation James! How are you finding the Tal barlow compared to the standard skywatcher 2x?

Stuart as ur prob aware i have barlow fever at min lol

got 2x SW, 2.5x RA, 3x Tal and x4 Image mate

they are all good quality i think and worth price paid

if i was to advise which one to get it would be for purpose of Jupiter alone it would be x3 Tal or x3 Meade Tele ext if u want to splash out lol

x2 and 2.5 dont give enough image scale for Jupiter and even 3x i'm finding i prefer to extend camera slightly to increase size

the x2 and 2.5 will come in handy for the Moon and in very bad seeing

while x4 will have its uses also with Mars and Venus

x2 SW barlow lens removes as u know which means that tube left can be used as ext tube either before or after barlow to decrease or increase image scale

still trying to work out sweet spot with Mak for Jupiter but reckon 3x is ok on average nights seeing and bit more prob on best nights

Thanks for the Barlow info James! I'm with you on the barlow experimentation front ;-) Have you tried screwing the skywatcher barlow lens onto your webcam filter thread? Something I'm going to try if there are any clear nights in the near future.
