Hunting summer globular clusters with binoculars

I spent some time out last night hunting globular clusters with hand-held 15x70 binoculars.

The majority of the targets were easily found and the exact position of the most challenging ones was confirmed in Cartes du Ciel.

These are my findings and brief comments:

M2 large and very easy

M4 large and very easy

M22 large and very easy

M28 easy

M30 easy

M54 easy

M55 large and easy

M62 easy

M69 difficult

M70 barely visible with averted vision

M75 barely visible with averted vision

M80 small and difficult

I was just going to say:"what? no M13" That's a beauty in 15x70s

I think I am almost done with Messier globular clusters.

Well done viewing these globs with your binos. I have tried for several years to view M70 with a 10 inch Dob, 6 inch frac, 6 inch SCT and a 4 inch APO frac but without success.

My latitude is 52 north - are you much further south?

What about NGC 6934 in Delphinius...Your not finished yet..
