Pimping the Meade AR6

Jamie

Recommended Posts

I picked up a Meade AR6 at SGL 5 and decided that i wanted to give it a new lease of life, and with that the pimping began.

All the dings (and there were a few) sorted.

A new paint job

An erect image 9x50 right angled finder painted

Last but not least a new Moonlite single speed focuser.

Below are some before and after pics.

Great job - did the scope have any dents ? If it did how did you get the dents out of the tube ?

It really look mighty fine .

The paint on these Meade scopes is very thick coated. So when you think you have a dent it's really quite a deep paint chip.

I sent it to a car body shop to get the paint job with the instruction of fixing any dents as well as the paint job. I believe they rolled out one deep dent and filled the rest....

BTW

Thanks all for your kind replies...
