I'm aware of the 16" ext but that's a bit big to bolt onto my pier- Any ideas gratefully rec'd.

I bought the EQ6 version and shortened it (hacksaw) and drilled three new holes, job done.

Shop around and you'll get it a lot cheaper.

Try Orion Optics UK as they do EQ5 pillar extensions which look as if they would fit, and they can do custom lengths. Worth an email to OO.

I'd seen those but 16" is too much I reckon , around 8" would be better. But yup hacking one up would be the my next most likely option

Might be woth asking Epsilon Telescopes they make really good quality piers and pier extensions. They can make custom parts for you
