M104 The Sombrero Galaxy in Virgo

Doc

Recommended Posts

Excellent Sketck, Mick. I was looking at M104 myself at around 23.30 BST through my Celestron CPC 925 GPS and TAL 25mm plossol. I looked at other galaxies in the Virgo cluster, but the sombrero was the only one with some definite shape and structure - the others were just ghostly halos lost in the poor light pollution I had to suffer last night, despite using my Skywatcher LP filter. Got to say though, things ere even worse without the filter.

Of all my eyepieces, the TAL performed best under the conditions prevelent last night

Again, well done, beautiful sketch. :)
