Tried mono SPC900 cam to see the difference and I can honestly say there is a big one. Let me know what you think

Spectacular image. I downloaded the original and it is incredible. All stiched together beautifully and the processing perfect. Well done!

Lovely mosaic R-77. I did one the last night as well but with a colour SPC900 in mono mode. I was quite pleased with it until I saw your one. I'll post it up in a minute.

any critique is welcome. Middle section is a bit dark not to overexpose the mountain range in the same Lunar part. It was just a balance of exposures.

What stitching software was used? I played with MS Ice and found it very poor but discovered another one called AutoPano that seems to do a really nice job. I fancy having a go at one of these myself, had a very quick play last night, more of a practice to see where I went wrong and to know what to correct, here is my test, one with ICE and the other with autopano. I need to improve on pic quality but the stitching difference is quite large. Using a finepix 5600 screwed to a hyperion.

have you tried IMerge? I did some of the stitching with this.

As for the MS ICE, I think processed image quality matters the most it to compile panorama. ICE does a good job when all the boxes are ticked.

I'll have a look at the imerge, doing a moon mosaic is just one of the things I want to have a go at, the above was just a practice and i know I need to work on focus a little more. If I can manage one half as good as the first one in this topic i'll be quite happy. Also you're working with video/webcam, mine was with a still camera and a not really suitable one at that, (finepix F5600) screwed to a baader hyperion.

Astropete uses the similar set up to yours and takes decent images. I believe if you work on that focus and use moon filter to reduce the flare you could take good afocal lunar images.
