Spectacular departure of AR11029, Oct 30th

Unfortunately the conditions were pretty dire with a thick haze layer and the Sun within the branches of a tree! However, I'm glad to have got a last look. A spectacular bit of localised prominence action going on here, the prom being very bright too.

Impressive image Starman ! I was observing this AR around 12h today visually with a LUNT60T, and I thought how nice would it be for imaging. Thanks for posting it !

Spectacular Pete! Particularly like the addition of planets to scale. Makes it all very clear how small we are. The surface of the sun looks so violent
