Order Placed

Recommended Posts

Hi All

At long last I have placed my order my choices were narrowed down to the Celestron C8-SGT XLT GOTO or the 8SE after alot of thinking I decided the 8SE would be the right choice for me at this time as I really want to just get out there plonk it down and get viewing just to get me going I also ordered : http://firstlightoptics.com/proddetail.php?prod=revelationepset as I thought this would give a nice range of mags to get me started until I feel the need for more specific upgrades also got the lens shade and a http://firstlightoptics.com/proddetail.php?prod=WOdielectric125 as it should be much better than the stock one just need to get to maplins to sort my power supply out then sit tight and wait for the delivery guy

Thanks to Steve at FLO for the expert and useful advice

And all the other peeps on here that have answered my questions over the last few weeks

Just be ready for the alignment questions over the next few weeks

Thanks all

Kev

Congrats, you've picked a great scope that should give you some amazing views, and remembered to get a proper diagonal as well.

For a power supply you might consider the one Opticstar sells as it's a proper regulated type.

Other things you might think about long term are a FeatherTouch microfocuser that replaces the stock focuser and doesn't affect clearance with the OTA at zenith. Unfortunately there isn't room to fit a crayford. Also the second most usefull bit of kit was the Lymax Cosmic Cooler that will cool down the scope in about 20 minutes, so that you can be observing sooner.
