Jupiter and Io

Hello,

Had a disastrous night last night, got absolutely nothing done DSO wise . Thank god i`ve got the DMK!!!! Seeing pretty pants (5-6/10) tbh but the high frame rate seems to do a good job capturing the steady moments....

LX20 10" @ f10 DMK 21 ccd. Approx 800 frames in each RGB. Wanted to see the shadow transit that was due but clouds had other ideas.... oh well at least its still pretty early in the season and it wasn`t a completely wasted night!!!!

That is so nice Alan. Shame you missed the transit, but the planet looks so good, and at least the moon itself is visible. All in all,

this is a great result. You will get other opportunities anyway.

Excellent image Alan, as Ron said pity about the transit but I think you can be pleased with your 'compromise' picture. A lot of detail considering Jupiter is still relatively low, July 31st is it's highest point this year apparently.
