The Sky or Starry Nights Pro

Recommended Posts

But ! if you hold onto your cash a little longer - The SkyX Serious Astronomiser Edition is meant to be replacing the Sky 6 Pro. Between the Sky 6 Pro & Starry Night, TheSky 6 Pro has my vote.

I haven't used SNP but have used TheSky for the last few years.

A great program, but very over priced. The Serious Amateur version doesn't allow access the the USNO A2 database.

I find that I end up using CdC V3 more and more. I also use AstroPlanner for GOTO and making up observing lists and recording observations.

Just my 2c

I would consider it one of the best.

A bit confusing when you very first use it but after a while very simple.

Shows almost every catalogue you could want. Also shows comets and asteroids.

Considering it's free, I think it's a bargain :)

I have (and use) both SNPP6 and TheSky6. I prefer to "have a wander" round the sky with SNPP6, and add some better images to the background, but use TheSky6 with CCD Commander, and also to work out mosaics with various fields of view.
