How do you calculate the moons age in days from new?

I did find an online one and it reckoned 1.82 days from new... So about 1d 19h 40m give or take a bit...

Which is quite old really...

According to LunarPhase Pro it was 2d 2h 24m at 10pm last night (BST). Nice image. I saw it on my way home from astronomy club.

I used an online calculator... wonder if it used the PC's time in the wrong TZ or soemthing like that...

Just added Lunar phase gadget to my Vista desktp - It looks/works great!

Just sorted out how to do it in VMA Pro...

The cameras clock was about 20s out...

The recorded time for the image was 22:23 BST

VMA gives an age (Lunation) of 2.08 days ...

Thanks all I may eventually get to grips with all this Luna terminology...

That's a nice picture.

I tried to take it earlier in the evening when there was a lovely sunset, but there wasn't enough light from the moon and there was a light cloud cover.
