A good day for solar

I'm watching Sol in Ha at the moment. There is a bit of everything: huge filaments, prominence arches, active regions with occasional M- class flare. Take a look. here is a nice GONG image from Australia:

Grabbed myself an early session in Ha and white light. Plenty going on although the seeing wasn't great here. Looks like we have sunshine all day though 😀

It's a great day 194 sun spots  and in HA proms all the way round the disc

Out too, may get the WL out as well as the PST as there’s loads going on. That filament is enormous. AR3697 looking busy too!

Looks like the eye lens of my eyepiece is a bit dusty

This group has been just fantastic all day. Superb.

In moments of steady seeing (seeing was mostly poor) there was loads of detail in those grey areas.

8 hours of clear skies today at the Bristol Harbourside Festival. 

Must have shown several hundred people views of the sun in white light and h-alpha today.

Great outreach event with Bristol Astro Society 🙂

(shattered now though - don't care if the sky is clear, it's an early night for me 🙄)

We had guests today.  I'm hoping to get out tomorrow as we are due 3 hours in the early morning of clear skies.  @Mr Spock has turned me green with envy with his pictures.

Would like to try some imaging so printing up a dovetail to Intel NUC adapter so I can mount the control computer to my handle:

Useful thing a good handle.  Especially this one which is also a really long finder shoe mount.
